occupyequality commented on the blog post The Office of Civil Rights lets gay-bashing Flagler, Florida school administrators off the hook
I am Jessica Naomi quoted in this article. Working with Luke and his mother Dorene, I helped them put their complaint to the Office of Civil Rights into a required timeline. Just for them to write the complaint was emotionally draining and then after a five-month emotional roller coaster, they were still lied to once again, and their hopes for Luke’s right to an education were crushed.
A few weeks before this “resolution” was written by OCR, I had found out that the first thug who attacked Luke, Greg Descartes,Jr., had a felony record going back to 2009. I sent the links to the web page “Mug Shots” to the OCR investigator Chen, because Dorene asked me to do that. I checked those “mug shot” links yesterday and they mysteriously disappeared. Descartes has an uncle who works for the Flagler County Sheriff’s Department Corrections Department. That might be why Dorene was advised not to press charges against Descartes.
We need to demand that the rights of every LGBTIQ student to an education is defended. Let OCR, Arne Duncan and the U.S. Department of Education know that this decision to allow gay bashing administrators get away with violating the law is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

occupyequality commented on the blog post Actress Cynthia Nixon ‘muddies the waters’: being gay is a choice (for her)
This is the choice Cynthia Nixon made, “I don’t pull out the “bisexual” word because nobody likes the bisexuals. Everybody likes to dump on the bisexuals.”
GLAAD thought she was worthy of the Vito Russo Media Award and this is what Cynthia Nixon said when she received that award http://youtu.be/NwJ73a0LhKc
