I have enjoyed this very much. Got to go and visit my aunt who is living in a retirement facility. Don’t want to call it a nursing home, as they give one a bad impression. My aunt is in her late 80s and still gets around. Take care all.

Oh yeah, Ranger is so cool. And like you can’t remember the name of the cop. Name began with an ‘M’ and was Italian. Remember his Italian grandmother and her seeing eye. That was so funny.
The only heavy reading I do now is political. I’m waiting to get my copy of Keith Olbermann’s newist from the library. “Pitchforks and” something, ca n’t remember.

For comic and mystery I felt the Plum series by Evanvitch(sp) were funny. The grandma shooting the butt off the cooked chicken sitting on the dinning room table. Some of her situations are laught out loud funny.

I got those tapes from the library. They are in the “Playaway” form so all I have to do is provide the ‘ears’ and listen while I knit. Enjoyed them.

Liked the Peter W. series also, that is until she had her character get too emotional over a killer being executed. Gave up on that. These are fictional characters, not real people.

Sherlock Holmes I think you mean? ;-)
Any one watch the moderization the British did on the Holmes series? Just foor but I enjoyed them greatly. This Holmes has a 3 patch need instead of a 3 pipe need to solve a mystery.

Yeah, but he does not have the ‘flavor’ that Rex Stout had. Goldstein ? something like that. I have one in my collection. In fact I have all of Rex Stout’s detectives novels, paperback thou, even that T. Fox guy he created. But for a good detective they are still the best.

Has anyone read/listen to the Inspector Porfiry Rostnikov detective stories? They are by Stuart M. Kaminsky. Good read on the late 1990s of Russia.

Then I like reading the Honor Harrington series by David Weber? ScFi and Mysteries are my fav right now.

I love knitting and listening to some of the tapes I have. Does any one here remember the fat detective Nero Wolf? And of course, his side-kick Archie Goodwin? Can’t find any of them in our liberies around here other than Rex Stout’s first 2.

Loved all of Jane Austin’s novels. My special is Persuasion, thought Pride and Prejudice is a close second. The A&E versions of most of her novels I found nice. I use to have a copy of the Hollywood version put out in the 50s? With Greer Garson and Sir Lawurence Oliva(sp) Talk about a mess up cut up version of that novel! I still re-read or listen to them when I’m knitting.

No snow left here. Rain washed it all away. Christmas was white for some, but just an inch. Warm but turning cold.

    Have a Happy New Year!!!
