opit commented on the blog post White House Tasks Itself With Controlling Speech On The Internet
“The brain trust known as the Right” Setting up oneself as a punch dummy with a constant attack of the stupids only serves to make ‘the left’ forget that they are themselves b.s. What was the last time you saw an anarchist opinion on any mainline blog ? The arc of opinion seems to run from apologists for going to war to cheerleaders for going to war.
Organizations like Global Research.ca and CASMII garner no press – but by and large they blow punditry aside as the irrelevance it is. -
opit commented on the blog post The Struggle for Independence in Catalonia, Spain
Catalonia and struggle are synonyms. George Orwell ( Blair ) fought for the anarchists in the war against Franco and witnessed betrayal of the people by left and right alike. `Homage to Catalonia` is a biographical story by a fellow who went on to be a hate radio announcer for the BBC – and a writer of `fiction`exposing military control of media. http://www.george-orwell.org/Homage_to_Catalonia/index.html

opit commented on the diary post Will Free market forces stop natural gas fracking or will the 1% demand a tax break and loans from the government? by ThingsComeUndone.
It`s hard to know where to start on this one. Texas bloggers have a head start on easterners. Bluedaze and the Texas Progressive Bloggers have been great on bringing up problems not touched on elsewhere. Bluebloggin was exposing CAFOs and feedlot pollution years ago. Fracking is said to be demonized. Is that what you call [...]

The fight over Mountaintop Removal – they are pretty well gone in West Virginia – sums up the results of pressing for ‘environmental awareness’, though I won’t shed any tears over missing the carbon credit scam.
Some time back a contributor to the Oil Drum laid out a sample of what a national energy policy might look like in terms of being a comprehensive plan to deal with resource depletion. I must say I have seen nothing that resembles it to date.

Look for war games. The U.S. military had some surprising results in the past. The success of asymetric warfare was one : which it shouldn’t have been to any student of guerrilla warfare.

Wowsers. Al-CIA-da ? Really ? Would that be the lot that overthrew the Libyan government for NATO or the ones decamping to try the same trick in Syria ? : recruited, paid and mindwashed by Saudi Arabia and administered from Turkey. Does nobody read the likes of Sibel Edmonds’ Boiling Frogs or Veterans Voice anymore ? Even a look at Intelligence Daily would reveal this ‘case’ as the farce it is – but the people can’t know ! Except they do. Duh.

That’s disgusting. Why are you not capable of understanding applied propaganda of ‘Denierism’ which disallows reasoned rebuttal through Strawman Argumentation / Poisoning the Well generalization using a list of ‘Talking Points’ when the source is not obviously Rovian ?
Scientific Method depends on considering of other views than those promoting a given scenario – just as courts did when they were not an adjunct of oppression.
As for AGW : representing pollution as solvable through an International Tax on the Use of Fire ought to sound all kinds of warning bells. It certainly did at Copenhagen.
And. Predictions of the future are not scientifically testable : which is why muted dissent about background conditions/scenario viability ought to be more seriously considered.

The info about more investment in ‘oilsands’ is not at all good. ‘Fracking’ ‘natural’ gas was already a cause of destruction of the aquifer : extracting oil from filth will spread more chemical death around. And I thought I followed odd stories. Here’s a quick excerpt
Today scientists at SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), an independent non-commercial organization, made a major announcement:
“Three giant spaceships are heading towards Earth. The largest one of them is 200 miles wide. Two others are slightly smaller. At present, the objects are just moving past Jupiter. Judging by their speed, they should be on Earth by early 2011,” said John Malley, the lead extraterrestrial expert at SETI.
The spaceships were detected by HAARP search system. The system, based in Alaska, was designed to study the phenomenon of northern lights. According to SETI researchers, the objects are extraterrestrial spaceships. They will be visible in optical telescopes as soon as they reach Mars’s orbit – sometime in March of 2011. The US government has been reportedly informed about the event.

“Or else he lied throughout the whole campaign”
Somebody was certainly playing games with spin. I still don’t get the outrage about retargeting the American military to fresh killing fields as if that wasn’t exactly and precisely what he said he’d to. And the revamp of ‘health insurance coverage’ by an administration whose primary figures were in the pockets of those same scam artists bilking the system for all its was worth doesn’t seem to have had the ‘thud’ of landing to Earth yet, either. -
