Conservatives who think this is an elaborate conspiracy dating back several years to keep Petraeus from testifying….
This is the part I don’t get. How does his resignation prevent him from testifying? Did the Intelligence Committee supply cabinet run out of subpoena forms?

So why didn’t the Greens run a candidate in the Senate primary? I would have voted for them.

The bear comes to raid your donuts which you leave in your tent and you shoot him.
Shows what I know. I thought you lured them with a pic-a-nic basket.
I once shot an elephant in my pajamas. What he was doing in my pajamas I’ll never know.

His website’s gone undone
Some hacker’s havin’ fun
What can poor Tucker do?
Hold his breath until he turns blue?
Cause Google says he’s dirty and they don’t wanna give his link to you? -

I just finished Jason Thompson’s A History of Egypt. It goes from prehistory to the mid-2000s. I’ve been reading The Inheritance of Rome by Chris Wickham while watching a Yale recorded class from iTunes U. There’s an amazing amount of stuff on iTunes.
I’m also reading Hey, America, Your Roots Are Showing by genealogist Megan Smolenyak. She’s the one who tracked down Barack Obama’s Irish ancestors. Adam Smith’s The Theory of Moral Sentiments is on the Kindle along with The Wealth of Nations, but it’s slow going.

So mom and dad grew the lemon tree, purified the water that came from the well they dug, and paved the road in front of the house? Where did the sugar cane come from? Their uncle’s plantation in Barbados?

Something tells me the younger generation, those mired in college debt, and with bleak economic prospects, are going to finally break the binary thinking that TBogg, me, and everyone else over 40 have been terrorized into accepting.
I was with you until this. The last third party to make it to the White House was the Republicans in 1860. The Whigs had already collapsed and there were many Republican officeholders from dogcatcher to Senator. Where are the Green legislators and mayors? And how are the young underemployed, working two jobs, going to build–not just vote for–a new party?

If you’re ever near Maryhill, Washington, stop by the Maryhill Museum of Art. They have a collection of memorabilia that Queen Marie gave to Sam Hill, the founder of Maryhill.

I could no longer tell my clients that their monies and positions were safe in the futures and options markets – because they are not.
Does this mean that she was previously telling her clients that futures and options were safe? Because these were risky investments even when the President was the color of a flesh-colored crayon.

Coastal California has a relatively small range of temperatures. Truckee, north of Lake Tahoe, is often the coldest place in the lower 48 and Death Valley is usually the hottest. As TheDarkAvenger noted, the Central Valley can get almost as hot and humid as Texas.

According to his bio at the In the Face of Evil website, Bannon was in the Navy for seven years.
From 1976 until 1983, Mr. Bannon served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy, with four years of sea duty onboard the destroyer U.S.S. Paul F. Foster (DD964) with the Pacific Fleet. The Foster was assigned to battle groups in the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. After sea duty, Mr. Bannon served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon during President Reagan’s first term.
He was also at Goldman Sachs (and Pillages). Why am I not surprised?
