OBVIOUSLY, the people in his administration, and even president Obama himself, are not as smart as the liberal and progressive Democratas who got out the vote that got him elected. The greatest frustration we have is that the Obama administration stopped listening to us the day after he got elected. They thought they were smarter. They were wrong!

How is this not about dumbed-down voters living in geographically isolated and culturally archaic rural southern communities? “Do our media brethren really want to invite Congress and prosecutors to regulate how journalists gather the news?”

Do the citizens of the United States of American want to insist that Congress and prosecutors enforce the laws approved and enacted by Congress and investigate, prosecute and punish those who violate the laws of our land to the full extent that our laws allow?

Just TWO POLICIES DATING FROM THE “BUSH” ADMINISTRA¬TION — TAX CUTS and the WARS in Iraq and Afghanista¬n — accounted for over $500 billion of the deficit in 2009 and will account for $7 trillion in deficits in 2009 through 2019, including the associated debt-servi¬ce costs. By 2019, we estimate that these two policies will account for almost half — nearly $10 trillion — of the $20 trillion in debt that will be owed under current policies. (The Medicare prescripti¬on drug benefit enacted in 2003 also will substantia¬lly increase deficits and debt, but we are unable to quantify these impacts due to data limitation¬s.)

These impacts EASILY DWARF the stimulus and financial rescues, which will account for less than $2 trillion (less than 10 percent) of the debt at that time. Democrats were defeated in the midterm elections because liberals/progressives STAYED HOME; not because Republicans were MORE POPULAR or because there are more Republicans than Democrats. Had President Obama not alienated liberal/progressive Democrats, Democrats would not have lost or diminished their respective House and Senate majorities.

Fortunately, for our nation, liberals/progressives are the fraction of voters that most determine who DOES and DOES NOT get elected. When they decide to vote, DEMOCRATS win. When they decide to stay home, Republicans win. When teabaggers vote AND liberals/progressives vote, DEMOCRATS win because there are more Democrats than Republicans.
