Corporate America could care less about OccupyWallStreet. If you want Corporate America to blink hit them in their pocketbooks by “Occupy the Ports” Get the Longshoremen and the Teamster Unions to support the movement by not driving through Protest lines at the River Ports. The goal is simple to bring Corporate America to the Bargaining Table to keep a fair balance of manufacturing jobs in the US.

painesense commented on the blog post For A Better Model on Jobs, Look to Argentina, Not Europe
“Although it is true that only about 20 percent of American workers are in unions, that 20 percent sets the standards across the board in salaries, benefits and working conditions. If you are making a decent salary in a non-union company, you owe that to the unions. One thing that corporations do not do is give out money out of the goodness of their hearts.” Molly Ivins
Debating Job Models is all Academic. You can’t rely on politicans to solve the job problem in America. Labor Unions have the power (but not the will)to bring US Corporations to the bargaining table on keeping a fair balance of manufacturing jobs in the US. Its the ILS Unions and The Teamsters who unload and move the foreign Containers around. If all the labor unions would unite together (including the public unions)then a US job voice will be heard loud and clear. Politicians will keep talking and debating and talking and debating and nothing will be solved. The time for talk is over. A National Labor Strike will force everyone to the bargaining table.

painesense commented on the blog post Senate Dems in Wisconsin Leave State, Hunker Down for Protracted Battle
This is a HUGE STORY that needs to build. Every single Union in this country should be out there in Madison with their representatives in supporting this Wildcat Strike. This is an opportunity for Labor to make a statement to all Politicians that Labor no longer is going to take this assault on its members sitting down. I wish all the Teachers and Public Works Unions from every State would fly out to Madison today and provide their support. God Bless the Madison WI. Strikers and their families.

God Bless the Madison WI. Protesters. Joe Hill is with you today and all of American Labor. Our past Labor Leaders fought hard for the right to Organize and the right of Collective Bargaining.

painesense commented on the blog post Biggest Threat to Health Care Law Comes from States Who Want to Abandon Medicaid Coverage Expansion
The promises of health care reform help elect two Democratic Presidents, Clinton and Obama. I suppose if they repeal the current health care bill, Democratic Politicians won’t lose any sleep over it. They will look at it as a tool to elect the next Democratic President in 2016.

No cuts in spending without a Rich Man Tax added on. If the Democrats use this argument and don’t fold like a lawn chair then we will have check mate in spending cuts.

Manchin played the Democrat Party for their support. Who can forget his campaign Ad taking aim at Washington with his imaginary gun? Manchin is really a Republican in sheep’s clothing. He should be ousted in the next WV primary.

painesense commented on the blog post Bernie Sanders Quotes Jeff Immelt: “I am a Nut on China”
Let’s not let the spineless leaders of Organized Labor off the hook here like the International Longshoremen Union and the Teamsters who unloads these ships from overseas thus undermining jobs in the US. Their failure to even threaten a work stoppage to stop the job hemorrhaging puts them on par with the GE’s of the Corporate World.

painesense commented on the blog post House Democrats Reject Tax Cut Deal “In Its Current Form”
This country is in a job crisis. This bill needs to have an immediate stop in outsourcing jobs until the country is back on its feet. For Corporations who outsource jobs, this bill needs to have a fair balance job formula of jobs outsourced to jobs kept in the country. We need to put people back to work. We cannot compete against a 65 cent/per hr Chinese Labor Rate. If we don’t address this issue new jobs that are created will eventually be outsourced to China and India at labor rates we can’t compete against. Stop the BS on Green Energy creating jobs. The equipment for Wind energy in the country is being purchased from China. Kill this bill and force US Corporations to be held accountable for doing business in this country.

painesense commented on the blog post Answering the Charge of “What’s Plan B” for the Tax Cut Deal
The bottom line is don’t expect Presidents and Congress to do anything right and just for the American people. You want meaningful change you have to make it happen yourself. You think Congress and the President would have passed the Civil Rights Bill because it was the right thing to do? This deal is not going to create any meaningful jobs. The President is following the same old failed policies of trickle down economics. Organized Labor needs to get off its butt and force Corporations to the bargaining table to keep a fair balance of jobs in the US. They can do this by refusing to unload cargo from China

painesense commented on the blog post PBS NewsHour: Third Way Mainstreams Corporatism Using ‘Progressive’ Rhetoric
I believe that this is the last chance that Democrats will have to force Republicans to compromise on anything. A tax increase to Republicans is like Krytonite to Superman. This tax deal must be blocked at all costs or its over for Democrats for the next 10 years.

painesense commented on the blog post Early Morning Swim: Bernie Sanders Tells Ed Schultz He’ll Try to Block Tax Cut Deal
I agree with you on the fast food restaurants but not on WalMart. I blame the labor unions for not taking a stand on Walmart. Who unloads the Walmart Containers at the US Ports from China? Who drives the containers from the docks to their warehouses? Union Members do it yet they don’t care about their Brothers because they got theirs.

painesense commented on the blog post Early Morning Swim: Bernie Sanders Tells Ed Schultz He’ll Try to Block Tax Cut Deal
I believe now is the moment of truth for Democrat Senators to stand up and block this deal. It’s my opinion that unemployment is never going back to levels prior to this Great Recession. Population Growth has over run the availability of jobs left in this country. Why make a deal that’s not going to create a significant number of new jobs or bring back a fair balance of jobs from foreign countries? I think the time is now to put it all on the line and to force Congress into a meaningful job debate in the country. If we wait, we will all end up like NJ in balancing a budget deficit on the backs of the middle class and the poor while the Rich got Richer with tax cuts.

painesense commented on the blog post “Going Forward” Took Dems Backward: Obama’s Message Hurt His Party in 2010 Midterms
I frankly feel Obama did a great job in his first two years of office given the hand he was dealt. He stabilized the country from a financial meltdown that would have thrown the country into the next great depression. We forget how close it came like the scene from “It’s a Wonderful Life” on having a run on the banks. He passed a Health Care Bill that took control of Health Services away from the Insurance Companies. He’s dealing with the two Bush wars in a responsible manner. The President has to run the country first. He saved the American Car Companies and the jobs that go with it. He accomplished this with no republican and blue dog democratic support.
The problem is the left sat back and expected him to rule like a king with no support from his subjects. The Tea Party outworked and took control of the message away from the Progressive grassroots movements. The voice of Real Change in Washington was silenced by the Tea Party and the Republicans. Real Change never occurs in Washington. It’s occurs in the streets from steady consistent pressure from Movements like Civil Rights, and Women Suffrage.
The Republicans are committed to overturn the Health Care Bill, Social Security, and other social relief programs at the expense of the Middle Class and the Poor. If the Progressive Movement is dead then it will happen and we can only blame ourselves. -

. Let’s see the Obama Record: He inherited the largest financial crisis since the Great Depression and yet stabilized the financial markets from a meltdown preventing the 2nd Great Depression. I agree with your logic of letting the government shutdown. Obama cannot cave in by letting the republicans have their way without any desire to compromise on the issues facing the country. The country is spit down the middle and cannot survive anyway if any one side wants the whole pie for themselves. This will be the only way that Americans will wake up and come together when faced with the reality that all will be lost.

painesense commented on the blog post 2010 Midterms Determined By Non-Voters More Than Voters
Real political change is not going to happen expecting a President to wave a magic wand to correct the ills of the country. Real Change can only happen with a steady continuous progressive movement. The mid-term non-voters were expecting jobs to be handed out by the President. Well hello why would Corporations want to create and hand out jobs in this country when they can pay a Chinese Worker 65 cents an hour? Well tomorrow we will see the results and they are the Rich will be getting Richer and the Poor will be getting Poorer!
