Sorry. The article makes it sound like it applies to all the poor. Only a minority. Which is patently untrue. Some things the ALP has done: The Australian Labor Party Has introduced a National Broadband Network (NBN) Which will provide 100 MB/s optic fibre broadband to 93% of the population. Wireless a satellite broadband to [...]

And this is all being done under a Labour government? Nope. It mostly happened under the previous conservative government. Unlike America we also have a free healthcare system. Which the poor are able to use.

“The Australian government has been tightening its grip on welfare benefits through the Income Management program, which essentially dictates how the poor should spend their benefits. panther45 commented on the blog post Ideology-Obsessed GOP Knowingly Courted Political Disaster with Vote to Privatize Medicare
If I was a left leaning blog. I would go out of my way to make this the issue for the 2012 election. At the same time I would also do my utmost to have liberals elected to even the most red states for the senate. Texas, Arizona and Maine are some that spring to mind. Just in case a massive scare campaign works. The tea party are doing their best in Maine to wreck the Republicans brand name.
