pokums commented on the blog post Americans Overwhelming Want Obama To End Crackdown on Medical Marijuana
Don’t think he’s trying to out-tough Repugs… but the “or some lame shit like that” of which you speak is that they’re all in the grips of prison-pharma-donor complex.

A primary stompin’ this big probably has more to do with a sentiment against an 80yo dinosaur than for a tp repug… eventually it’s just time to leave.

Willis Alan Ramsey’s version of his own song is way better, much less ridiculous than Capt&Tennille’s popular version.

pokums commented on the blog post “Forward” Is Obama’s Newest Attempt at a Campaign Message
Wonder if the “Forward” theme was pre-coordinated with MSNBC’s “Lean Forward” slogan? But consistent with your “fucking fuckery” theme, whenever they say “Lean Forward,” what I actually hear is “Bend Over.”

pokums commented on the blog post In the Face of CIA Drone Strikes, Pakistan is Powerless
Unamerican? — It’s the new normal, I doubt 83% of Americans even approve of apple pie:
The Post-ABC poll found that 83 percent of Americans approve of Obama’s drone policy…
…fully 77 percent of liberal Democrats endorse the use of drones
Justice won’t be coming from state-side… hopefully from the Hague, but most likely from more blowback.

Epu’d, but to me the biggest all-time immediately transparent presidential or VP lie has to be (wrt Iran/Contra) Poppy’s “I was out of the loop (heh-heh)!”

It’s not batshit-crazy Michele Bachmann of the W-smooching to whom Frank33 refers, but the other not-MichelleO, Michelle Malkin… “cheerleader cheers, wearing plaid” gives it away (as do his links)… but they’re both batshit crazy, tru dat.

pokums commented on the blog post Sunday Late Night: Lurkers, Please De-Cloak
For me, FDL mostly serves as an effective and entertaining news & issues filter… its selection of front-page articles appeals to what seems most important to me, and the sarcasm inherent in much of the writing and in the comments make it all much more palatable. FDL, along with antiwar.com and juancole.com (and tpm until it became unbearable), have been the primary gateways for whatever daily news I have ingested since way back to Jane’s and Reddhead’s original blog. The commenters here provide as much or more insight and links into the weeds of the news/issues as do the main posts themselves, and in a most entertaining way (including the heated pissing contests, which I guess are now a thing of the past). I’m a member, but keep to my 99.9% lurker status because I have little or nothing to add, and mostly because I’m usually a day or 2 behind, catching up on pages 2, 3 and 4 in epuland. As in I bet this ends up being the last comment.

pokums commented on the blog post This Week’s GOP Primary Voters Think Obama’s Muslim
Your MEDIA FOCUS didn’t really come into focus till the last paragraph. Up till then, you were definitely dwelling on RELIGION and southern redneck ignorance, as in, “repeating… for clarity: Most GOP voters in Mississippi and Alabama think President Barack Obama is a Muslim.” We stupid readers.

pokums commented on the blog post What century would Alabama and Mississippi Republicans like to wind the clock back to?
Can’t see any basis for about half of those folks’ belief that he’s Muslim, but neither can I see much basis for the 13% or so believing he’s Christian (other than his self-declaration, which I see no reason to believe any more than his “hope&change” nonsense). Guess I’d have to go with the 35-40% who aren’t sure, but only because there’s not a “Corporatism” choice.
