Did not gay use mean something like happy of without much care?
Now he or she is gay does not connote any of that.
How about languages that are tonal, where a word spelt with the same letters in same sequence could carry one of ten meanings and the only way to decipher the meaning of the word is from the tone of the person who is saying it?

The problem people s not Mr. Pike. The problem is our country. We liberals and conservatives alike celebrate leaders who are most succesful in their foreign adventures(wars and killing of people they have painted as evil to us). the more brutal and successful they are in suppressing those foreigners the more we ulogize them.
What makes us believe that they will not employ simmilar tactics in forcing their wills on us? That is simply what is happening folks. The tactics that were used refined and finessed in foreing theaters of operation ahve come home to roost..

More importantly how about these western countries including ours, using those technologies to spy on and supress us? In the US it is even being codified inot the law of the land.
Fact is even many of the liberals have become blinded to what is happening here because the heat has been turned on very gradually, and we have a “democratic’ president so all the loss of rights and endless foreign intervention is now turning into the norm and not noticed, or ignored.
