Pyre commented on the blog post Wisconsin Democrats Decline to Put Up Spoiler Republicans
It makes basic sense to me that if the GOP is going to run a “spoiler” candidate, the Dems need to even the field by doing the same, otherwise they’ll be at a financial and voting disadvantage.
With two spoilers in play, the GOP will need to keep their voters in their *own* party, so their *own* candidate doesn’t lose to the spoiler — thus the spoilers cancel each other out, as though *no* spoilers had been run. Result: something resembling a clean election, the original desired result.

Pyre commented on the blog post Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Vulnerable to Potential Recall Campaign
Do you think Scott Walker would spend all this time and effort building up the centralized power of the Governor’s office, and then leave open the tiniest bit of chance or possibility that he might lose it all to someone else, let alone of the opposite party?
No, the open ballot-bags and other irregularities in Waukesha County are just a mild taste of what that recall election would look like… assuming the petitions stood a chance in Hell of surviving collection, submission, and review.
