quanto commented on the diary post Solar Roadways: Edging Closer to Reality by Phoenix Woman.
I’m all in favor of solar, but this solution seems to have a few drawbacks. First why would you put a solar panel where the vehicles that would be using the power would be casting a shadow on the panels. It would be like putting the solar panels on the bottom of a car and [...]

quanto commented on the blog post Foreclosure Fraud Settlement Docs Finally Released
David,
One thing I noticed with a quick scan through of the complaint filed is that MERS is not listed as a defendant or mentioned in the complaint. ( If I missed it could someone point me to the correct PDF please.)

quanto commented on the blog post Job Growth Mismatched With GDP Growth, Could Slow in Coming Months
All the talk about job growth, one thing is never mentioned, are these jobs actual living wage jobs? It doesn’t mean much if your working and still not able to put food on the table. (Ya, I know , crybaby progressives, they want it all.)

Will “Owners” (Buyers) policy cover against fraud in a clouded title? Also am I correct the owners policy only covers equity you have in the home?

That even has it’s drawbacks, when you have unfettered greed like this.
When you have unlimited funds and a commodity that’s urgently needed the crooks can set their price.

quanto commented on the blog post Oil Speculation Can Be Right and Also a Problem
I’m totally ignorant on commodity trading rules but it seems that the big players can game the system very easily. It would seem that if it were required that the players in large investments in commodities be made public it would allow common investors to see if the rise carries weight or just a pump and dump operation.

quanto commented on the blog post Obama to War Hypemongers: “Explain the Consequences”
That’s why I think it will be a “false flag” operation. I don’t think the Iranians are dumb enough to even try an attack unless attacked first. The Israelis, that’s a different story.

quanto commented on the blog post Obama to War Hypemongers: “Explain the Consequences”
Let me get my tin foil hat adjusted………there! all set.
In my opinion were just getting played again and he’s just setting the stage for plausible deny-ability. I see two scenarios and both have to do with a false flag operation.
1. While he is calling for restraint the USS Enterprise will catch a couple of torpedoes in the Arabian sea in 10,000 ft. of water. All the intelligence will point to Iran (surprise, surprise ). The drums of war will howl like 9/11 and his hands will be tied to retaliate.
2. He really is trying to negotiate and the MIC does an end run around him and does the same thing to start a war. This puts us right in the lead and Israel can just sit back and reap the benefits like always.
I pick number 1 though.

Masaccio,
Expect a response,”Dear Mr. Walker, we understand completely. When can we expect your donation? ”Your dealing with people that live in their own bubble, a fantasy land where they expect everyone to be banging at the door to be let in because its so wonderful there.
They will be totally dumbfounded when the rebellion hits.

Mr. Galbraith,
Having been in government, maybe you can explain this, the states secrets privilege has been expanded in the last 12 years to now include everything that walks, crawls, swims, or fly’s. Why hasn’t their been any pushback from congress as to keeping everyone in the dark?
Mod Note: While an interesting question, it really does not have anyting to do with th topic of today’s Book Salon

quanto commented on the blog post The Failure to Prosecute Bank Crimes Creates a Disease at the Heart of Our Politics
Any state AG who signs off on this sell-out should be impeached and disbarred for doing so.
Totally agree, why are they even having a discussion about a settlement, if they want a settlement it should be : relinquish all your money, spend 20 years in prison, and we won’t put you in the electric chair.
These AG’s better stay out of Vegas, they’ll loose their shirts, who else would be sitting with a royal flush and settle for the buy in instead of the pot?
I would like to see a pole of the foreclosed on, if they would rather have their home back or see the banksters that caused this spend the rest of their lives in prison and loose everything.

quanto commented on the blog post Schneiderman Sues Three Big Banks, MERS for Deceptive Practices, Illegal Foreclosures
Fractal,
A question if you please?, I’m trying to understand why they think they might have a legal standing to MERS. In the complaint filed you site they reference New York Real Property Law Article 9. In one section it lists recording of property.
Sec. 291. Recording of conveyances.
A conveyance of real property, within the state, on being duly
acknowledged by the person executing the same, or proved as
required by this chapter, and such acknowledgment or proof duly
certified when required by this chapter, may be recorded in the
office of the clerk of the county where such real property is
situated, and such county clerk shall, upon the request of any
party, on tender of the lawful fees therefor, record the same in
his said office. Every such conveyance not so recorded is void as
against any person who subsequently purchases or acquires by
exchange or contracts to purchase or acquire by exchange, the
same real property or any portion thereof, or acquires by
assignment the rent to accrue therefrom as provided in section
two hundred ninety-four-a of the real property law, in good faith
and for a valuable consideration, from the same vendor or
assignor, his distributees or devisees, and whose conveyance,
contract or assignment is first duly recorded, and is void as
against the lien upon the same real property or any portion
thereof arising from payments made upon the execution of or
pursuant to the terms of a contract with the same vendor, his
distributees or devisees, if such contract is made in good faith
and is first duly recorded. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any
increase in the principal balance of a mortgage lien by virtue of
the addition thereto of unpaid interest in accordance with the
terms of the mortgage shall retain the priority of the original
mortgage lien as so increased provided that any such mortgage
instrument sets forth its terms of repayment(my bold)
I find it strange they wouldn’t use “shall” instead of “may”
and do I read it correctly stating if it isn’t recorded properly then the subsequent transfers are null and void?

quanto commented on the blog post Madigan Sues NTC for Document Fraud, Prior to Foreclosure Fraud Settlement
Fractal,
Thanks for the response. It just seems like there was a whole lot of people that got their lives destroyed and the Government is going to let them skate with giving out pocket change. It makes me sick just seeing the Michigan Supreme Court giving MERS the green light to continue foreclosing on people. -
quanto commented on the blog post Madigan Sues NTC for Document Fraud, Prior to Foreclosure Fraud Settlement
If in their discovery process they come across criminal intent are they required to amend their suit from civil to criminal? Or do they just refer the case to district or state attorney?
-
quanto commented on the blog post Madigan Sues NTC for Document Fraud, Prior to Foreclosure Fraud Settlement
right, the point is that Madigan would go up the chain only to find herself stymied by a bogus settlement.
That’s a feature, not a bug. If she already knows the banks will be immunized why not throw out a few more lawsuits to make herself look good.
If she does happen to get a quick settlement so much better for her.
My question is why no criminal lawsuits, only civil.
