Radix commented on the blog post House Oversight Democrats Told Birth Control Access Hearing “Not About Reproductive Rights”
Wasn’t that nice of Issa, not taking women away from their baking and household duties, to discuss, let’s face it, some thing which has very little to do with them, their reproductive choices.

Radix commented on the blog post Obama: We Offered Cuts to “Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security”
Well, some of the Republicans have done as you suggest, that’s apparent. The question is, is it enough?
-
Radix commented on the blog post Obama: We Offered Cuts to “Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security”
The problem, really, is what happens if we default? It appears Republicans might be quite happy to see this happen. So are the cuts being proposed, which could be reversed if Democrats ever win control of both houses again, more or less painful than a default?

Radix commented on the blog post Senate Votes to Repeal Ethanol Subsidies

Radix commented on the blog post FDL Poll: Should Anthony Weiner Resign?
I can see your point, regarding the Dem Leadership. Which begs the question, would the Dem leadership care, if their constituency spent zero time on this issue? It’s already clear New Yorkers could care less, so why are they continuing to press the issue? My guess, it has more to do with the Republican noise machine than anything else. If I’m right about their motivation, then what we say doesn’t matter. Since what we say, feel, believe, regarding this issue, has no impact, why not spend out time more productively?

Radix commented on the blog post FDL Poll: Should Anthony Weiner Resign?

Radix commented on the blog post Will the Media Ever Realize that the GOP’s 2012 Candidates are Trolls?
No I’m afraid your dream will never be realized. These programs need to fill air time. It’s easier for them to cover this non-sense than do actual fact based reporting.

Radix commented on the blog post Mubarak Announces He Will Not Seek Re-Election
Well clearly, judging from comments here, the total collapse of a government is good for the people. What do you suppose would happen if Hosni and his senior leaders fled the country right now?

On the first day of the new congress, rules can be changed with a simple majority. However, after the first day, it requires 67 votes to make changes to the rules.

Radix commented on the blog post Senate Rules Reform Will Be Tweaked, Some Democrats Nervous About Committing to Changes
It’s still going to take 60 votes to invoke cloture. So how does what’s being proposed, in the way of filibuster reform, make it easier for the repeals you suggested?

Radix commented on the blog post The Banks’ Worst Nightmare: Homes Given to Borrowers in Utah
Agreed, no one told/ordered the Lenders to forgo due diligence. The lenders chose this course, in order to generate larger short term profits.

Radix commented on the blog post Wisconsin GOP Wants to Make it Much Harder for Young, Urban, and Poor to Vote
How is murder and voter fraud similar? The means of accomplishing each are quite different.
-
Radix commented on the blog post Wisconsin GOP Wants to Make it Much Harder for Young, Urban, and Poor to Vote
You aren’t trying to imply the Frank Walton person committed voter fraud and got caught are you? The fact he was caught would seem to imply Wisconsin already has an effective voter fraud prevention program, no?
