The internet is a wonderful research tool but I’ve found that bands with really ubiquitous names can make the task pretty difficult. Also, sometimes names have assumed new definitions during the interim. Here’s a tip, if you want to learn about the ’60s/’70s drummer known as Twink it’s best to Google his real name (John Alder).

It’s the little moments in life that matter!
I’ve been thinking lately about how my dad always worked two jobs but somehow still found time to spend with the kids. I realize now that my mom and dad spent a lot of time creating happy memories for us. It’s truly a wonderful thing to have now that they are gone.

When I was looking for the Lou video one came up from the first Farm Aid. I’d forgotten he was there. Would have been the first time I saw him in person. I was smushed up by the stage for 13 hours, thought maybe I could spot my younger self in the video but no luck. Didn’t link to it because the video quality was particularly poor.

I have a hard time imagining the current SCOTUS ever being on the right side of history and making the wrong decision on Prop 8 will do a lot more harm than an amendment to the NC state constitution. I hope I’m wrong.

On the last day? Of course not. Months or at least weeks ago, maybe.
Much of his support in NC is in the AA community and statistically they oppose same-sex marriage by a MUCH higher margin (over 60 percent) than the general population. Hopefully this will help reverse that trend.

Since the Biden kerfluffle I’ve heard a lot of pundits discussing the fact that Obama should do this because it wouldn’t cost him many votes among Dems and independents. They completely miss the point. IMO one of his major considerations was NOT motivating dispirited evangelicals who may have had trouble holding their nose and voting for Romney. They won’t have any difficulty now. So, it took a little political courage, not something I typically associate with Obama.
