Obama also gets the blame for the failure of the Dream Act. First of all, Obama promised to pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform his first year in office, but he broke that promise. Then in the final days of a lame duck session, five Democrats voted against the very modest Dream Act, and it failed by five votes. If you think playing politics with the lives of a vulnerable, economically exploited population is good politics, and a “win” for Democrats, you’re sadly mistaken. I have seen this arrogant attitude all over the liberal blogs, and it couldn’t be more wrong.
