RickinSF commented on the diary post Rush Limbaugh’s Cowardly Attempt to Apologize, Still Misrepresents the Issue by Scarecrow.
Did he read this “apology” over the air, or was it only on his website?
If he didn’t go on air with it, as he did with his slander, he’s chickenshit.

RickinSF commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Michael Hastings, The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan
I wondered about that…I decided then that the game was up in Afghanistan when the president of the US could not cashier a officer for sabotaging policy.

RickinSF commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Michael Hastings, The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan
I recall that McChrystal boxed the president in on the issue of troop requirements in Afghanistan earlier in the year, before the RS story. He did this by “leaking” reports before Obama was to announce the Admin. position on troop numbers.
Seems to me he should’ve been fired then, but the president didn’t do so.
Could this have made McChrystal believe he was bulletproof? -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Hope You Like My Genocide
When hubby Elliott was busy helping Reagan murder El Salvadorans, Guatemalans and Nicaraguans, someone asked how she felt about the “criticisms” being leveled at her husband.
She said, “I’d like to take a machine gun to them..” or something of that sort.
Nice lady. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Is This the Beginning of the End for the Cain Campaign?
exactly what i was thinking.
As arrogant and self-righteous as Cain seems, I’m willing to bet there’s a few “little Hermans” out there that nobody is supposed to know about. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post We present you with this slap across your wrist
So he’s sentenced to a day’s work on holiday pay…the NYPD brass sure knows how to hurt a guy.

RickinSF commented on the blog post Wisconsin: Walker Shuts Down DMV Offices in Democratic Areas After Passing Voter ID Law
You can lead a horse to water…etc.
I have absolutely no expectation that this DOJ will lift a finger.
I hope i’m wrong. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Mullen Accuses Iran of Getting in the Way of Imperial Occupation of Iraq
Tehran knows that Iraq will be the staging area for a US push into Iran.
For the Iranian leadership to not help the Iraqi resistance would be irresponsible.
Mullen knows this. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Senate Will Stay in Pro Forma Session, Blocking Recess Appointments
Absolutely.
I have a hard time with assumptions that Dr. Warren’s apppointment is in the offing. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Similarities Between Ryan’s Medicare Plan and Affordable Care Act Make Dem Pushback Tricky
Sorry, I can’t get beyond the similarity between Ryan’s haircut and Ronald Regan’s.

RickinSF commented on the blog post A Liberal Is a Villager Who’s Been Screwed By a Mortgage Servicer
five’ll get you ten that Citibank is right now organizing a “make Millbank happy” task force and his anxieties will quickly be a memory.

RickinSF commented on the blog post Gaddafi Loyalists Shoot Protesters in Tripoli as They Leave Prayers
Um, this may just be one of those situations where bloodshed will happen.
Khaddafi (sp?) will rely on his mercenaries and dwindling loyalists to rule by force unless and until foreign countries embargo arms and soldiers for hire.
It will take a while, lots more people will die, but Ghathafi (sp?) will be gone. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Wisconsin’s Walker Signs Bill Requiring 2/3 Majority for Tax Increases
That’s the first thing I thought, but 2/3 has worked so well – for the California far-right.

RickinSF commented on the diary post Sex Scandal Might Bring Down John Boehner by RogerShuler.
It’ll blow over….after all, THIS time the hijinks seem to be heterosexual.

RickinSF commented on the blog post Ayn Rand Fanboy Paul Ryan Used Social Security “Hammock” to Put Himself Through College
Ick!
I collected similar SS benefits while I was in school, and was damned glad to have it.
Knowing that I have even this much in common with Ryan makes me want to take a shower. -
RickinSF commented on the blog post Chris Christie’s Christmas
I have heard some apologies for Christie, along the line of: “Hey, it’s a blizzard! How’s he gonna get to NJ with everything shut down?”
Sorry. Christie is a Republican, and if there is a heap of shit anywhere, it is our duty to pile it onto him or any GOPer in reach.

RickinSF commented on the diary post A Sellout (or Three) Too Far? Obama’s 2012 Support Collapsing in Wake of Latest Betrayals by Phoenix Woman.
BO is giving me that “Willie Brown” feeling of deja vu.
I enthusiastically voted for Willie as mayor of San Francisco, and even more enthusiastically campaigned against him four years later (and, even later, his puppet, Gavin Newsom).
And I know I’m not alone.

RickinSF commented on the blog post Thanks, Harvey, for Preaching Hope
Don’t overlook the documentary, “The Times of Harvey Milk.” One of the best.

RickinSF commented on the blog post Thanks, Harvey, for Preaching Hope
I’ve lived in San Francisco since just after Harvey Milk and George Moscone were murdered and I very much doubt a man like Milk could get himself elected in SF today. He’d be what local burghers and their mouthpieces call an “über-lefty.”
