Guest lecturing in a History of Terrorism class, teaching a 4-week course on the history of WW2, Research Assistant for a WW1 author, and TA in a History of the 1960s class. I’m trying to stay as engaged in the Department as possible.

Well, Bosnia in the 90s seems to have served the same role as Afghanistan in the evolution of the international jihad. It was a stew of covert operators, especially Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the USA, as well as arms traffickers, financiers, mobsters, smugglers and jihadis from all over. It kind of exists in the larger context of the secret war that is ongoing.

Recent. Nineties. Kind of an “everything you know about the Bosnian civil war is wrong” by an author that should know what he’s talking about, but wrote a history as a partisan of American politics. I am rather harsh in my analysis…the issue deserved better.

If he believes this, then he simply doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
