Well, to start with we could look to what other industrialized countries do. Virtually all of them cover a higher percentage of people at less cost.
Second let the agency negotiate for lower drug prices. There’s a big giant start for you.I live in NM, close to Mexico. Large numbers of people go across the border to get health care and medicine. Seriously. I’m betting that happens to some extent up north with Canada too. So that whole greatest healthcare system in the world is only true if you can afford what the private companies choose to charge. Fix that and you will have largely solved the problem. Of course this may mean limited profits or (shriek!) non profit.
