rosalind commented on the blog post Obama’s Deluded Remarks Ignore His Role in Keeping Prisoners at Guantanamo
thanks for this Kevin. the rhetoric on this one is crucial. for too long the Admin has gotten away with using the phrase “cleared for transfer” which many people interpret as “cleared for transfer…to a U.S. based prison”.
we’ve got to repeat over and over: “cleared for release”, “cleared for freedom”, “cleared to return home”…

The Moral Rot Of Our Ruling Class: A Rant In Five Parts (Part 1) RANT 2: The Loss Of Meaning Once upon a time words had meaning. rosalind wrote a new diary post: Rant 1: Greed Is Good (For Absolutely Nothing)
The Moral Rot Of Our Ruling Class: A Rant In Five Parts I haven’t written a diary in ages. I – among many others I suspect – have been feeling crushed by the enormity of how far off course our Country has veered, overwhelmed at where to even start. Unwilling to let the bastards keep me down, [...]

the Defense should ask “John Doe” if he had any communication with the “Zero Dark Thirty” filmmakers. oh wait, disseminating Seal sources & methods to Al Qaeda via a commercial for profit film is a “good” leak.

most new bands are releasing their music via digital downloads, through sites like bandcamp. bands with actual record deals are an increasingly small part of the recorded music pie. i was just in Amoeba today and asked at the Info Desk about two new artists i was looking for – turns out both have no [...]

rosalind commented on the diary post A Little Fundraising Advice for LA Archbishop Gomez by Peterr.
our former mayor Richard Riordan and the entire City Gov’t – from the D.A. to the LAPD – need to step up and atone for their sins in enabling Priests to commit their sexual crimes unabated for decades. the morally repugnant “deference” afforded the Church’s every obstructive move allowed so many more lives to be destroyed.
