what in the hell are you talking about? Do you ever read his work? I don’t think I even remember a Jon Walker post that doesn’t kick the shit out of the Obama Administration.

I agree with you here. From now on I will be sure to say that I WAS a part of the Democratic base, until I realized there was no place for liberals in the Democratic Party.

I call myself a “liberal independent” now.

I’m not trying to take a crap on anyone here, but it’s just kind of sad that we liberals have reached the point where a republican candidate being late is about the only thing that gives us any pleasure.

Meanwhile, the person most of us voted for has just condemned this country to a lost decade.

Michelle Bachmann is a horse’s ass but she’s done no actual damage to anything yet. Unlike the person most of us (including me) helped put in charge.

I called Bob Brady’s office (PA-1). They said he had not decided.

I called Allison Schwartz’s (PA-13) office. They said she had not decided.

Jesus Christ. I’m amazed at Jane’s paragraph. God love her, but that’s some nonsense.

From the perspective of Barack Obama, there was no failure. There was success. When the hell are liberals going to realize that Obama doesn’t share their ideological goals?

Mitch MCConnell ran circles around NO ONE. Victory is easy when you DON’T HAVE AN OPPONENT. As Greenwald said this morning, and I have said millions of times, there were about 50 escape hatches that Obama could have used to avoid this crisis, and he chose NOT TO. McConnell himself even offered to GIVE Obama the ability to raise the debt ceiling himself. Obama declined.

Barack Obama and the democrats are NOT serial losers, Jane. The serial losers are people like YOU who REFUSE to learn the simple fucking lesson that Obama and the Dems aren’t trying to WIN for YOU. They are trying to WIN for their plutocrat owners. And they have!

    So tired of this!

Kill the bill. Kill the bill. Force Obama to use the powers he ALREADY has. Preferably coin seignorage. Or the 14th amendment.

Teddy, does anyone have the power to keep your post frontpaged, and at the top for a while? Like, say, the next couple days? I mean, this is so important, and it’s basically our last chance.

    Thanks for posting.

Can someone who has the power please leave this post on the front page for a while, and don’t let it scroll too far down? It’s extremely important

I’m really just not interested in parties. There’s absolutely no need for them. There are plenty of great people out there, and with the internet, social networking, youtube, and small dollar fundraising, indies can succeed.

I’m sorry, but I’ve been hearing “we need a bottom up solution” for so many years, and really, it doesn’t have any actual evidence to back it up.

We don’t have time to win 100s of local races for the fucking green party. We should push an indy candidate right into the presidential debates, and smash this system with a giant hammer.

No, I have noticed. But the fact that I still believe change is possible is why I’m commenting on this blog right now.

I agree. 95% of these assholes need to be replaced. But you have to start somewhere. I say, go right after the top guy. You can’t change the policies that rule us until you can change the ideas that rule us. Right now, lefty views are nowhere to be found among the elite. A truly and unapologetically progressive president would expand the overton window left, thus creating a huge amount of space for 100s of future independent and progressive candidates to pop up every where, and take down these garbage politicians.

Well, what we do in the streets depends on why we’re in the streets. If these maniacs actually cause a default on debt, then I think it could be time to do more than what you might see at, say, a peace rally.

  • The problem is, as I see it, the Obama Administration is a participant in this extortion.

S&P’s threats just help to heighten the sense of crisis which the Obama thugs depend on to push through draconian cuts to the welfare state.

If anyone should be shipped off to Guantanamo, it should be the Obama thugs.

  • Nothing happened to Japanese interest rates when they got a downgrade, so there’s no reason to be frightened by a downgrade to US debt either. And if there is a reason to be worried, it is NO WHERE NEAR as frightening as what a default might entail.

More horseshit being fed by the Obama Administration, trying desperately to scare up support for slashing the welfare state.

They are NOT more concerned about a downgrade. But they sure want us to believe that! They sure want us to yelling, “give in to Standard and Poors wishes!” rather than “just use the coin seigniorage or the 14th amendment to get around congress and avoid default.”

    This is a fucking fraud.

I do. He did a few fucked up things. Not as fucked up as Obama though. Obama’s entire presidency has been an assault on the poor and middle class. And don’t get me started on his heinous civil liberties record.

We don’t need parties, or allied parties, or whatever. We need great candidates. Humans beings. Let’s start with a great independent candidate for president. Who’s with me?
