Holy unexpected?
Jimmy Carter would, no doubt, step in to help if Rome needed some new blood from the Americas, wouldn’t he, or possibly Pat Buchanan? Don’t suppose Willard would qualify?
I’m waiting for John Stewart. He’ll be all over this like a rash – zinger! Stop it. -

An American acquaintance of mine has just railed against my views that America erred in its response to the WTC attack. He accused me of hatred “on this of all days”.
It seems also that petulance is rife in NYC as well. At the Open in Flushing Meadow Serena Williams shouted disgust at the chair umpire when a point was awarded against her for a rules breach. She said, “How dare you. I’m an American”. Unsportsman-like rich girl, more like it.
As an Aussie in China, I have to deal with many ex-pat Yanks and most are sold on the big lies about Truth, Justice and the American way. Sad really.
Congratulations Samantha Stosur – a class act.

Crikey mate! You forgot about Australia. Probably a good thing too. We’d like to keep our shipshape economy to ourselves. But you’re welcome to invest a few downgraded US dollars.

Crikey crusher, don’t revoke his citizenship! We don’t want him back. He’s up shit creek in a barbed wire canoe without a paddle. Let him swim.

Watching the Americans outside The White House making a sickening display of celebrating more death by violence says much about the deep-seated problems of that society. It reminded me of a group of football hooligans after their team had won the cup. My apologies to the football fraternity.
Fools. This is not sport!

While we’re on ex-presidents: interesting that GWB has cancelled his Switzerland junket due to ‘security reasons’. IOW, he may be arrested.
What a marvellous sight: Swaggering war criminal slinks back to Crawford cell.

The Guardian piece spells out why The Crown had to settle rather than have all the messy facts see the light of day in open court. But see the light of day they still may, at the Gibson Royal Commission coming up soon.
As an Aussie, I hope that Australia holds similar enquiries into the david Hicks fioasco.

All wars will cease when men and women refuse to fight.
