sagesse wrote a new diary post: Occupy Boise Court Injunction: Tents Stay, A Commons Remains, Sleep Deprivation for Now
Occupy Boise has won a partial court victory in maintaining a symbolic tent city on public property on the grounds of the old Ada County Courthouse now controlled by the State of Idaho. An Idaho Statesman news article described the General Assembly/Press Conference held at noon yesterday at the Vigil Site. Walker said the tent city is political expression, [...]

Occupy Boise was in federal court today, seeking a Temporary Restraining Order to protect the Vigil Site and prevent eviction by the state. Idaho Governor Butch Otter issued an edict that the Vigil Site must be vacated by 5 pm Monday. Judge Winmill was in Pocatello, on the other side of the State. Occupy Boise [...]

This all just broke late yesterday afternoon. It involves a female legislative Attache, but she has not been identified yet. When rumors first emerged, it wasn’t known. Here is the latest: Looks like all those State Troopers they had hanging around the Capitol after it was put on lockdown due to leadership paranoia over Occupy [...]

And thanks FDL editors for linking to the Press Conference video. The rot and barbarity in the Leadership in the Idaho Capitol is boiling over. Jeff Siddoway, another of the Senate leaders, is pushing a Bill that passed out of a Senate Committee yesterday – that would allow use of live bait – including dogs [...]

http://youtu.be/CfqMOTBWp5U Idaho Senate Republican Caucus Chairman John McGee finally got his comeuppance yesterday . McGee was one of the proud co-sponsors of the Bill aimed at eviction of Occupy Boise protestors from the Vigil site. But an allegation of sexual harassment on top of his recent DUI conviction forced his resignation from the Idaho Senate. As the Idaho [...]

And fact is – many of these guys dress themselves up in Freedom Talk when it serves them – but I can assure you that is the last thing on their minds. Cronyism for cattlemen, corporations and just downright meanness seems to me to what they are all about.

Well, that theory would comes crashing into brick (or marble) wall when you take a peek at the Idaho Constitution. It has language some think may be even stronger then that of its U.S. granddaddy.

The Idaho House Passed the final version of the Bill to Evict Occupy Boise on Friday afternoon. The Bill did not make it to Governor Butch Otter’s desk by Friday evening. It could be signed any moment. A lawsuit and Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order has been filed in Federal Court by Occupy Boise. [...]

PEW sure seems to be poison to environmental causes – controlling them through sprinkling just enough funding around to get a group addicted … then making sure their thought and message control managers turn the ‘message” and the group into a quivering bowl of jello. And I remember Lubchenko’s lying in the BP Spill. Plume [...]

sagesse commented on the diary post Idaho Legislators Fear Overwhelming Support for Occupy Boise by sagesse.
The Senate fiddled around with amending an amendment today, which they ultimately voted down. It had to do with allowing those awful “indicia” of camping like stoves or tarps to “occupy” state property at college sporting events. They did not vote on the full Bill yet. I’m not sure if the effort to amend an [...]

Here’s a fast recap of events of the past couple of weeks in the assault by the Idaho legislature on the Occupy Boise Vigil site. Occupiers and the community turned out at the Senate State Affairs Committee Hearing in early February. In three days of testimony, first two in the House, and then this day [...]

Yes, the Vigil shows the commitment of the people. And so does developing things like a good Neighbor policy, and trying to work to deal with all that arises when any one takes a stand in such an open way. One of folks at the Vigil was in the muckraking TV interview told the TV [...]

A Statesman article this morning … http://www.idahostatesman.com/2012/01/29/1972783/house-speaker-denney-wanders-the.html How much of Oakley out of towner Scott Bedke’s posturing with the anti-Occupy Boise Bill is about landing himself a plum position? One thing for sure, some significant part of the effort to evict Occupy Boise seems to be about being King of the rotten heap in the [...]

I think they are nervous and confused because the depth of the Occupy movement, and the people’s concerns, took them by surprise. Then underneath it all is that the Republicans have a super-majority in the Legislature, and Otter (ex-son-in-law of billionaire Simplot)has run the state government as a nest for cronies who will do whatever [...]
