Why is the sale of these newspapers so disturbing to you gays, when MSNBC has effectively sold itself to the Obama administration. No one raised a single eyelid when the MSNBC virtual sale occurred!

Solomon71 commented on the diary post 10 Reasons Canada’s Tar Sands Suck by Kevin Grandia.
Kevin, I more than agree with your 10 Reasons Canada’s Tar Sands Suck. But, let me give you one reason why Obama is going to approve it. And that is because his enablers want him to do so. And, what the enablers want, Obama delivers.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Caring for the Poor Is Up for Debate in the Catholic Church?
In case this was not really obvious to you, I was being sarcastic. I am not sure why you are singling out Ryan for all this criticism when Obama is a equally culpable for all that same criticism.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Caring for the Poor Is Up for Debate in the Catholic Church?
Yes Peterr. That college should have chosen your great progressive Obama as a keynote speaker. Obama was forced to propose cuts to social security only because that same big bad Ryan had Obama at gun point.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post What Mark Sanford’s Victory Says About Modern Politics
Jon, Don’t make this a sore grapes thing. Mark Sanford won. And, that is what matters.
Bill Clinton is perhaps the biggest poster child when it comes to marriage infidelity. Yet, Bill Clinton will easily win any election that he decides to contest. And, the only reason is labels. Democratic voters will vote for Bill Clinton (just as they will for Obama, or Pelosi or Superman or Bogeyman) just because they want to vote for a Democratic candidate no matter what that candidate stands for.

Solomon71 commented on the diary post Rant 4: The Awesome Power Of The Bully Pulpit by rosalind.
The only time that this president uses the bully pulpit is when he is justifying his pivots towards the right. Like for example when he was justifying his decision to extend the Bush tax cuts for the superwealthy thus converting the Bush tax cuts into the Obama tax cuts for the superwealthy. Recall this was [...]

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Massachusetts Special Senate Race Is Surprisingly Close
You say, “My fear is that he’ll fall in line with Obama especially given the Michelle Obama $30K per plate fundraiser.”
I agree. I heard of this yesterday on radio. And, I have now decided that I am not going to vote for Markey. I’d rather we get a second Republican senator from MA than get yet another DINO (falling in line with the king of DINOs). Every Democratic pol is figuring out a way of pissing me off more and more with the post-2008 Democratic party.

Michelle Obama is coming to Boston for a $30,000 a plate fund raiser for Markey.
I had thought that Markey was different. But, given that he is ready to take fund-raising help from Obama, it is clear that Markey is going to be “yet another Democratic Senator” who is fall in line with whatever Obama proposes. In other words, Markey is going to turn into a second John Kerry.
We already have enough DINO politicians in DC. We don’t need yet one more. Overall, because of this, even though I voted for Markey with gusto for the primary, I am now unlikely to vote for Markey in the actual election.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Congressional Democrats Pushing Back Against Obama’s Austerity Budget
Van Hollen (like much of the Democratic party’s pols) has lost all credibility in my eyes. The man is so wimpy when it comes to standing up for Democratic principles and hence I feel that Obama should have chosen Van Hollen as his VP (not that Biden is not doing a great job of keep up with Obama’s corporatism).

Yes. Comments lost. Moderators, please look into this. Thanks.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Cuomo Wouldn’t Even Try to Challenge Hillary
As far as I am concerned, the progressive cause has no hope, going forward. The Democratic party has produced one corporate sellout and triangulator after another (starting from Carter all the way till Obama). And, none other than the progressives need to be blamed for this outcome. The progressives have never taken the Democratic party to task as have the conservatives in the case of the GOP and Tea Party.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Cuomo Wouldn’t Even Try to Challenge Hillary
So wrong of you. Hillary is planning on being Reagan III.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post Cuomo Wouldn’t Even Try to Challenge Hillary
Thank god. The only thing worse than a true DLC loyalist like Hillary would have been a DLC hack like Cuomo.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post How could anything go wrong?
The Keystone pipeline is going to happen. And, that’s because the GREATEST president of all time, Mr. Obama, will (as he has done in every instance in his GREAT presidency) will eventually side with corporate interests over the environment (or over the middle-class). So, let us figure out how we can do something about this reality.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post The Rise of the Corporate State
And, Obama is known as a hardcore progressive and liberal in much of the mainstream and conservative media! Is this still that hilarious?

Your is one of the best and most courageous and truthful post I have seen over the last several months. Great post.
However, this just cannot end by blaming FDL. Actually, Americablog, FDL and Digbysblog are at least forthright about Obama in some respects. I wish I know how we could get FDL, Americablgo and Digby to stop caving to Obama and to the Democratic politicians. If I know the right way to do that, I would at least be motivated to take some action.

Solomon71 commented on the blog post The Rise of the Corporate State
The middle class is dying. Chart after chart, story after story, poll after poll, all show that the claim that we are a middle class nation are hollow fiction.
In a Democracy, the people receive the politicians they deserves. In 2008, even I bought into this “Hope and Change” crap. But, after seeing that what we actually got was George W. Bush II (and on steroids, in some respects), I went with the Green party in 2012. However, despite knowing what Obama and Democratic party is and have become, most people still voted for the Democrats (instead of going for alternatives such as the Green party etc.). Well, all that I can say that people do deserve that they are receiving from the Congress and from this White House. It’s sad, but that’s the case.

Wow. Just like in DC, even among the gays, the lefty gays are capitulating to the right-wing gays. Great going lefty gays – that’s just what the rest of us had expected of you.
