If it were only local, it would not have been covered every night on Tagesschau in the Fall. For older people who have voted CDU all their lives to vote Green is certainly more than local news. That was a response to Stuttgart 21. They amazed themselves.

Exactly my point. No news coverage in the U.S. because consumers don’t care about events beyond their Firedog/Facebook lives. And I have found that the Stuttgart 21 issue is more widely known than you indicate. After all there were Greens arriving in Stuttgart from around Germany and other countries. You should consider his past of supporting Stalinism without question before you embrace “all” of what he’s done for humanity. He supported the Hitler -Stalin Pact before WWII. And there’s that small question of millions of dead in the Gulag. We expect Nazis to atone, the same should apply to Stalinists. Period.

The *problem* as I see it is that we are speaking to the choir. The demonstrations in Wisconsin show that being in the street with big numbers is the most important thing we can do. The visuals of these demonstrations make a point for the public that no longer reads.
