SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Time to Ditch the Left-Center-Right Frame from Political Discussion by Ohio Barbarian.
Good food for thought Ohio Barbarian. Recommended. I agree with much of what you say. To go a little bit further on what you already mentioned in your post about the social issues being used as distractions and wedges, I agree that is precisely what they are used for by the politicans and the powers [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Precariousness by Daveparts.
Highly recommended.
As usual, excellent work. Not so much eye opening….. as eye focusing.
It’s diaries like these that make me remember why it’s worth it to give a crap abbout our corrupted, festering political system in the first place….because it’s putting people through unecessary suffering.
There’s always a reason to give a damn. -
SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Post-Election Progressive Scorecard: Kasich 1, Obama 0 by Ohio Barbarian.
Thanks for this Ohio Barbarian. It makes my blood boil, but it is an important example of how much of a fasacist Obama is; and an important lesson in the Grand Canyon sized gulf between his rhetoric and what he actually works to accomplish. I honestly have ZERO sympathy for the marks who thought that [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post With “Progressives” Like These by SenatorGovernment.
Good point, the Dems are very consistent when it comes to letting down their base. I guess my main concern was, what with so many people being deathly afraid of the Republicans that the Dems may simply become the default winners…regardless of how terrible they are. But your point is good, atleast for the near [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post With “Progressives” Like These by SenatorGovernment.
On social issues I agree with much of what you say. As far as economic issues, reigning in the plutocracy, real and effective regulation, etc, I don’t think either party is up to the task, not the corpartist Dems of today or the possible less racist, less bigoted and religiously intoloerant manifestation of the GOP in [...]

Thanks for stopping by wT2.
I look forward to your post on the realignment of the major parties.
I am particularly curious about what direction the Republican party will take, or if it will simply be replaced with something else entirely.

SenatorGovernment wrote a new diary post: With “Progressives” Like These
So the election is over, and as predicted the President won reelection handily. The electoral college victory President Obama won over Romney was an open hand slap to Mitt’s campaign and after looking at some of the other election numbers; a rebuke of CONservative principles and a tolling of the bells on the inevitable [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Obama won on “values, not demographics”… by jaango.
meanwhile, Democrats reject ANY notion of mandate, pivot to “coaltiion building” to implement the Grand Bargain, lower corporate taxes and more… Also,Senate Dems move to enact “Filibuster Reform” hoping, no doubt, to be a weak minority should Republicans take the Senate in the next few election cycles. The betrayal of the Dems to the working class is [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Third party laziness, 2012 edition by danps.
It is Perfectly Reasonable for parties to have a platform, with a mechanism to have that platform updated or changed substantially by party participation and oftentimes in response to the needs/desires of the greater public at large.
But again, it is Perfectly Reasonable for a party to have a platform.

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Johnson, Stein Advance in White Middle Class Third Party Debate Playoffs by donkeytale.
Speaking of debates, I like Glen Ford’s take on the foreign policy debate between Obama and Romney In other news, the election is already over…..Wall Street won, again http://www.alternet.org/economy/how-wall-street-won-election-long-first-vote-was-cast?paging=off What to do? I know! Let’s all lefties just keep participating in/encouraging protests like Occupy etc. and ALSO keep voting Democrats with NO intention of passing progressive legislation…. [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Robert Samuelson Takes on NYT Editorial Board: Government Does Not Create Jobs! by Dean Baker.
Samuelson just plain sucks…period. I cannot understand how anyone takes this guy seriously, what a joke, this country is chock full of stupid people, the fact that people like David Brooks, Robert Samuelson, the entire cast of the propaganda performance art network Faux News,….that these people have jobs is a testament to the thriving stupidity [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Is Voting for Obama Immoral? by sebastianbennett.
for me, yes it is absolutely immoral and inconcieveable for me to vote for Obama.
I’m voting for Jill Stein, and I don’t have any reservations about doing so. -

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Stein and Honkala Stand Their Ground — Alone by donkeytale.
“If only Jill Stein were able to assemble 20,000 of her supporters anywhere….I would have been impressed with 50-100 standing in solidarity with her and Cheri Honkala willing to be arrested with them yesterday, but I guess y’all were too busy going about your lives….or wtf….” Your obvious disatisfaction with this photo op/vid op, I [...]

“You could have spent the five minutes doing something useful like explaining what the point of the American Green Party is. Or at least you could have tried.” Yes mark, I could have. But I decided to respond with the merit equal to the merit I considered of the original post. “Are we to take [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Stein and Honkala Stand Their Ground — Alone by donkeytale.
What is the problem with that picture? Photo op/vid op? Ok. I’m assuming there’s a point there though I can’t figure out what that point may be. Afraid of alienating undecided voters? I don’t see how 1 or 20,000 protestors with Stein and Honkala would alienate voters of any persuasion one way or the other. [...]
