SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post What Can Labor Win if It Backs Obama’s Re-Election? by Amy B. Dean .
x3!
Obama is in the process of deregulating the poultry slaughter house industry as we speak. Highlights, expect more deaths from salmonella and ecoli; and expect more worker injuries and infections due to speeding up of the slaughter house lines.
What will labor get from backing Democrats? F#ck all.

Yes Disgusted in Eculcid, I believe you are spot on.
I remember reading somewhere that income distribution was at its most equal in the U.S. from sometime in the 50s on into the 70s; then things started to go down hill really fast for most of the country.

Thanks!
Love that band, always had a good mix of funk and latin, East LA flavor! And that particular song; such an accurate description of the world back then and still today.

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Why vote for Obama? Let me count the whys – 3 by David Seaton.
Voting 3rd party progressive. NOT voting for Obama or Romney. Don’t give a DAMN if a rethug wins by default. Ain’t scared, not even a little bit. It seems to me you are trying to fear monger folks into voting for Pres Obama. The only problem is that Pres Obama is doing a heck of [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post The “blitz formation” works in politics and football by Alan Maki.
“Build public health care and public child care centers instead of football stadiums. Bring back the WPA, CCC and C.E.T.A. Enforce Affirmative Action. Tax the rich; don’t subsidize Wall Street’s wars and football stadiums for billionaires.” Common sense, and historically proven to be effective in making tremendous progress in alleviating poverty. Which is why anything [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Who is to blame for turning what should be a victory into a possible defeat in Wisconsin? by Alan Maki.
“What should have been done in Wisconsin while workers were in the streets and occupying the State Capitol is a new political party should have been formed right then and there” Amen to that! Highly recommended. I hope dearly that the Democrats keep showing how useless they are Especially in regards to what’s going on [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations. Winston Churchill by damocles.
Recommended.
The first quote by Bertolt Brecht is magnificent.
Gets right to the heart of the matter about political ignorance and apathy. -

Ohio Barbarian,
I couldn’t agree more. The Democrats must be thoroughly voted into destruction, as long as they are allowed to take up political space and pretend to be a party of the people……they are simply an obstacle keeping an Actual party of the people from taking shape.

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Why vote for Obama? Let me count the whys – 2 by David Seaton.
The reason it’s “Obama or Romney” is because enough peope will make the CHOICE for it to be so. It doesn’t HAVE to be that way. That is the first step in acknowledging that change is possible. Yes I believe there are enough people who are too afraid of the big scary Republicans, and apparently [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Scorched Earth Doctrine (the untraveled road) by SenatorGovernment.
Thanks for stopping by Michael! Yes it would be great if we could have a sustained and open dialogue about progressive 3rd Party candidates. IMHO, It beats the hell out of discussing the two sides of the UniParty day in and day out. Collectively, I believe we are behind the power curve. The political class [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Scorched Earth Doctrine (the untraveled road) by SenatorGovernment.
Exactly. The Democrats abandoned working people long ago, it is only now that the cumulative effect of their betrayals, backstabs and ‘compromises’ with the right wing has reached critical mass, enough to where we are feeling the pain. The ‘JOBS Act’ is another example, like Clinton and the Dem Congress and Glass Steagal; the ‘JOBS [...]

inoilfieldhell, It is a scary proposition. But I am 100% convinced that based on the numbers, the stalemate we find ourselves in right now will continue into infinity without a serious wake up call to the electorate. (Some of us thought the fiasco of a crashed economy in 2008 and the subsequent giveaways of tax [...]

SenatorGovernment commented on the diary post Scorched Earth Doctrine (the untraveled road) by SenatorGovernment.
Not exactly, but close. I don’t see much difference between Romney or Obama. That’s why I’m not voting for either of them. Because a vote for either one is a vote for the ever rightward drift of policy in the U.S. I’m not down with that. I’m voting for Rocky Anderson or Jill Stein. I [...]

SenatorGovernment wrote a new diary post: Scorched Earth Doctrine (the untraveled road)
Kiss Progress Goodbye With great sadness I must find the current political system in the U.S. severely wanting and utterly incapable of making, maintaining or improving any positive legislation or institutions. At this juncture, the political infrastructure in the U.S. is capable only of responding to the wants and whims of the rich and powerful, there isn’t much [...]
