Thank you Mr/Ms capper. Especially since last February, during Occupy the WI Capitol and grounds, I have followed the goings-on in my state of birth. I appreciate getting to know about the current political players.
Just an aside, I knew about the Bradley Foundation but the Kochs were under the radar for me till the past couple of years.
Best wishes on the recall. I donate $ when I can.

Speaking of “Forward”, Allan, that is indeed the State of Wisconsin’s motto. Let us hope all Badgers and Cheeseheads remember that on June 5th and stop this WalkerKochFitzgerald machine from continuing in reverse.

SFExPat commented on the blog post Reports: Zimmerman to Be Charged in Trayvon Martin Death
IANAL but I don’t think GZ was out to specifically stalk and kill TM in particular or any other black young man. I think he got taken up by his own fear and powerlust. So something(s) other than capital murder should be considered. In addition, after all this media craziness, it’d be sorta difficult to impanel a grand jury (or any other jury) in the state of FL.
Plea bargain? Bench trial? Legal Beagles, pls enlighten us!

My bat story:
I was living with a girlfriend in a small apartment when I was still in WI. Had a very large bag of not terribly effective but cheap locally-grown pot in our closet. Went in there one day to grab some, opened the bag and –
found a very sleepy and probably stoned little bat all encuddled among the herbal matter. I decided to get rid of the weed since it was prob’ly somewhat tainted with bat guano, but I guarantee no harm came to the bat. I put garden gloves on and removed the little beast and placed it outside under an eave.

Pam you are too kind with the “barely sane Joe Arpaio, the sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona” description.

@tyoung:
Why do you mandate a medical procedure on one group of women (those who are planning or strongly leaning toward having an abortion) but will not mandate it for women who intend their pregnancies and wish to sustain them? Point is, you shouldn’t oughta mandate in on ANYbody.
Or perhaps you and yours would prefer to mandate t-v ultrasounds on ANY girl of possibly child-bearing age? Just to make sure she’s not pregnant and doesn’t know it?
This nonsense is unconstitutional and you know it.

We buy cards. Lots of them. He started it. One Easter Sunday, I found FIVE of them like I woulda been looking for Easter Eggs when I was a kid. Every other year or so, for Christmas or a birthday or some such, one or the other of us will do The Card Thing, and this year I made up “The Four Days of Valentine”. He gets the fourth card tomorrow.

I have read (sorry, can’t look up today to tell you where I read it…) that the oil barges to Asia can’t be big enuf for the Tar Sands people to make enuf MORE $$ — something to do with shallower waters, underwater geology, etc. — whereas the Gulf has no such problem.
All we need, huh, more oil in the Gulf.

SFExPat commented on the blog post Canada’s Conservative Harper government has just torched my marriage certificate?
So — what if, for example, a couple from NH or IA got married in Canada when their own home state did not allow it yet, then their states did and also honored marriages performed in other places (like Canada)? Are these ppl married or not? Even having nothing to do with divorce.

SFExPat commented on the blog post Mittens proposes bullsh*t three-tier marriage system for ‘teh homos’
Um, this is exactly the state of things in the State of CA. There are straight-marrieds, gay and lesbian marrieds during the 5-month window before prop 8, and the class of “can’t get married” ever since until the dang thing makes its molasses-speed way through the Federal courts.
Since the unconstitutionality of this in CA is likely to be upheld, why on earth does Mr Romney think it’s constitutional nation-wide?
