The Highline is sublime, I agree, a great place to go. The north end of Central Park is basically south Harlem, and is great, peaceful.
Also, they walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and hang out over there in the park to the north in the area known as DUMBO.
And when you guys are in town and treating for meals, check out the amazing and sort of batshit restaurant Shopsins in Essex Market on the Lower East Side. It’s tiny, almost a diner, open for breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Sunday, and Kenny Shopsin is…unique. There’s a documentary about him, I Like Killing Flies, you can see on Netflix.
