Yep, and computers were completely described in “On Computable Numbers” (Alan Turing, 1936). At the time, he was a Fellow of King’s College and, as such, a public servant paid with tax dollars. And the first electronic digital computer (ENIAC, finished 1946) was developed entirely with tax dollars.
“Whatever you and your government did together, keep me out of it.”
