from relevant health care posts. Is there some Message Discipline order still in effect, one wonders? The Chamber of Commerce announces it’s opposition to Obamacare with language like this:

We see the upcoming House vote as an opportunity for everyone to take a fresh look at health care reform—and to replace unworkable approaches with more effective measures [...]

People who spout pieties are never targeted with censorship, since there’s nothing to censor.

Glenn Greenwald, again, on the dynamics of censorship. Isn’t that right Rayne? But once a site is pious groupthink, it loses credibility and relevance. So a fine line you have to tread, as do I, gesturing in the direction of that which cannot [...]

yeah, truly. good question. as trailing indicators, career progressives are what, about 12 months behind? Glenn never tailors his principles or trims to prevailing winds, and FDL has moved notably away from covering the things he covers so well, because their implications are so unpleasant for Democrats. Been reading you over at Corrente (http://www.correntewire.com/) good [...]

cheers mate! the question for this year will be – will Left institutions both online and off retain their fealty to the Democrats, and what price will they pay in credibility and relevance? obviously, I think the price is too high, and I have no idea what they get for their loyalty, overt and covert. [...]

Yep. He promised to ‘focus’ more on Afghanistan, and the deathcount there is ‘surging.’ He was owned by Goldman Sachs from the beginning, and loyal little worker ants carried him to the Oval Office, where he does the bidding of Wall Street. Thanks ‘Progressives!’ 22 year olds can maybe be excused for feeling surprised and [...]

I have long had the opinion that the Democratic Party is unredeemable, indeed, is a major obstacle to achieving progressive change, social justice, or even mild, cosmetic reform. ~~ Ed. note: Edited for compliance with site rules; see http://my.firedoglake.com/aboutus.~~ Notably during the HCR ‘reform’ charade, Single Payer and it’s advocates were held to be verboten, and strict [...]

perfectly defines the Democratic Difference: atrocious Republican policies, given trivial cosmetic adjustments and baked into bi-partisan, establishment consensus.

thanks for supporting this, Firepups, and you can’t claim “nobody could have predicted.”

    Arthur Silbur, from 2006:

Let’s rephrase the old cliche, to make it fully accurate. When faced with dictatorship, torture, and endless war and death, the Democrats will rearrange the atoms, to be found in the molecules, which make up the imperceptible pieces of dust, that rest upon the cushions, that sit on the deck chairs of the Titanic.

again, links to the diary you promoted?

and, close reading of my diary will reveal that my concern was the lack of coverage of the courageous folks who protested and got arrested.

Siun does great work, but citing her does not address my point.

you are new here, newer than me, by maybe 4 years. So, I know the site pretty well by now, and they know me. Hi Folks! :-) The criticism of Democrats that is tolerated here is within a framework, something like, “They are flawed, and weak, and incompetent, and yes, often stupid, and we can [...]

But,  he was protesting America’s war against Afghanistan, which is now being waged by a Democrat, Nobel Laureate, so therefore, you will not have seen such news mentioned on FDL, right? After all, as soon as the Democrat was given control of the war machine, the (D) captured Netroots demobilized, and their oh-so-sincere opposition to imperial slaughter dropped to last priority. So, [...]

you are correct, those ingredients are distinct, but there is substantial overlap between them. Since the admins and mods have settled on a sort of purgatory for me and my views, rather than outright banning, I cannot just add these sort of insights in threads as they occur to me, I have to go and [...]

your inability to respond to any of the substantive points speaks volumes.

why not attempt to address some of the primary points, before moving on to tertiary issues like spellchecking, grammar, and condescending allegations that I do not play well with the other children?

  • Eating deep-fried turdecken? Cooking with Lard? Passing around sausages and beef-jerky at their Vegetarian meetings? Hmmm, lets ponder this: There seems, possibly, to be a slight tension between what these ‘Vegetarians’ profess to be their beliefs, and their daily actions. How to resolve this, what a mystery. Cenk, what do you think? To reveal the point of [...]

your Preznit will continue Bush’s occupation of Iraq through 2012 and beyond and Tbogg and most firepups will vote for him, so this online carping and kvetching serves what purpose, exactly? Are you trying to position yourselves as morally superior to Hiatt and his ilk? You could start by refusing to vote for war criminals, so they don’t take you for granted every even number year.

so you must also object to:

Obama told reporters during a visit to Israel that if elected, he would take “no options off the table” in dealing with the Iran issue and said tougher sanctions could be imposed.

    right?

or do you only object when a (R) says such things?

The utterances of Lindsey Graham differ only slightly in nuance and emphasis from the campaign positions of Barack H. Obama, who firepups voted for in droves. so what is the beef?

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Wednesday a nuclear Iran would pose a “grave threat” and that the world must stop Tehran from obtaining an atomic weapon.

Obama told reporters during a visit to Israel that if elected, he would take “no options off the table” in dealing with the Iran issue and said tougher sanctions could be imposed.

This is what you supported when you give your vote to a candidate, why the change of heart now?

    hmmm, but what about:

    1) ~200,000 Democrats in Florida who voted for George Bush
    2) Millions of Democrats throughout the nation who voted for George Bush
    3) ~1 million Democrats who didn’t vote at all in Florida

and um the decision of the US Supreme Court that actually stopped the recount and made Bush President?

and oh yeah, Joe Lieberman?!?! that pompous buffoon probably drove away tens of thousands of voters.

but anyway, back to the real topic – why would tBogg quote this commenter, only to ignore everything and fly off into gumdrop cuckoo land? That whole word salad with the fairies and whatever doesn’t make any sense at all, and sure doesn’t sound like the way real grown-ups talk.

so, Tbogg, your little screed addresses none of the factual, valid points raised by the commenter who you quote – instead you are off to gumdrop fairy land?

who needs to grow up here?
