stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Boehner Still Sounding the Obamacare Repeal Rallying Call
The greatest gift Obama gave to America’s wealthiest corporations was the ACA. Due to the mandatory insurance provision large employers are in the process of removing spousal coverage. Haven’t heard this yet! It is in the process right now. Healthcare benefits are a huge cost center for large companies and now they have the backing of the ACA to shed some of them.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Banks Face Competition From Retailers on Financial Transactions
I have belonged to PriceClub now Costco since 1983( in Tucson). I was there today buying shelves for my studio here in MN. I don’t mean this to be an ad but I used CostCo’s auto program and it was the best auto buying experience I have ever had. As a contractor I have bought a few vehicles and when I was switching from a truck to a Honda Element Costco was the best deal I could get, it is worth a look. On our carpet 2 years ago so-so.

stevenjbailey commented on the diary post Will Pennsylvania Take Full Advantage of Health Reform? by ThirdandState.
As has been pointed out over and over on FDL many millions will be paying for Obamacare for others with their penalties. The ACA is a horrible law. My wife and I just got our rates, for me to be covered on her insurance next year, it went up over 40% from last year. Our [...]

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post CAP Credits FHA for Its Useful Ignorance, Allowing Mortgage Fraud to Continue
The CAP is just Democratic Party hacks and no different than their Heritage Foundation counterparts. Both are useless for anything but party spin.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post The State is a ‘Black Hole’ Seeking to Swallow Up People for Their Radical Beliefs
I am really “hoping for a change” in our ( or what was our) country. How did we get to where this stinking corporatist Obama is the better of two horrible choices?

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Pew: Romney Surges After Debate
I agree. Obama’s “I couldn’t care less” debate performance started me wondering whether Obama is running to lose. If he takes a fall and Romney wins Wall Street will get exactly what it wants, again. It will also keep Democrats , Liberals and Progressives split since party line Dems will blame the more progressive voters for the loss. It will be a great finish for Obama who I have always thought had only one real job -destroy the progressive generational shift the was occurring in politics.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Obama Re-Endorses Raising Social Security Payroll Tax Cap
The proof that Obama and all of our Representative politicians aren’t even trying is that you could cut Social Security Tax by over half if it was applied to everyone. It would be the biggest job encouragement that could be given to small business and impossible to politically defeat.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Obama Will Vow to Cut the Deficit by $4 Trillion in DNC Speech
Obama promises to spare no member of the 99% in his rage against the deficit. Obama actually offered to punch a homeless person on stage to get republican independent voter cred. ( I made that up, he really offered to have a Navy Seal beat him)

Thank you very much but I will never be able to be like my Grandfather. Just like in music, some times it all just works. Thanks again.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Democrats Cave on Platform, Make Changes on God, Jerusalem
My grandfather was a proud Democrat, he had worked in local campaigns in Rhode Island and was the most decent person I have ever known. He also struck out Ted Williams at one time (good story but not major league). He became the Post Master in a Rhode Island city and at Christmas he made sure people who were out of work at least got holiday mail carrier jobs. When he died in the late 70′s at 83 some of the streets were shut down by the traffic. He was just a decent guy, not rich, just decent and loved FDR. He was very Catholic (New England not to be confused with Mid Western) and he waited 8 years to marry my grandmother (Swede) who wasn’t very religious. He went to church every Sunday and never expected my Grandmother to go (and never loved her less). In 53 years I have met very few like my Grandfather and I really believe that the Democrats of today would make my Grandfather cry.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post The Short Sale Scam: Most Going to Non-Recourse States that Bar Deficiency Judgments
The only solution that I have ever seen to this disaster is creating a secondary market for the difference between the purchase price of the home and the current value of the home. This solution also includes crushing down all ARMs to the lowest current rate for refinance. In the end nothing will be done besides draining a bunch of tax dollars to criminal banks and the market driving many people from their homes. (As a note: every person I know who is in trouble right now has a home they bought for over 400k borrowed against it and thought they were going to make a killing on it)

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post The NYPD’s New For-Profit Ready-for-Export Supercomputer Surveillance System
This is great! Once our government syncs this with drones and smartphones we will be the safest place on earth, maybe even the solar system. Think of the money that can be saved by getting rid of the pesky justice system. The computer can identify the crime, identify the criminal and dispense immediate justice. I’m am so glad that the trillions of dollars spent to develop the big brother system wasn’t wasted on poverty, hunger or protecting us from climate change.

stevenjbailey commented on the blog post Early Exits in Greek Elections Show Tight Race
Sadly there is no hope for Greece. The Greek debt cannot be paid with austerity. Even with currency devaluation it may not save them. It is also sad the Goldman Sach’s role in deceptively repackaging the Greek debt the other year resulted in a much higher risk exposure to many other countries and no one mentions it. The over 1000 trillion dollars in global derivatives is a fraud that the world nations and banks cannot repay. I don’t understand why other nations are not issuing arrest warrants for american financial CEO’s and pointing their missiles at Wall Street.

I love that t-shirt. I am also sure that if the passenger had an “I want to hit Obama with a rock” t-shirt the pilot would have done two things: moved the passenger to first class and Hi! fived them for having the same t-shirt the pilot has.
