Predictable from a left wing viewpoint. But from the right-wing I would expect some Glenn Beck heir to be chalking up a conspiracy plan on a blackboard. The closest I’ve seen is speculation about Breitbart, for those who couldn’t see his sustance abuse spewing out his pores. And with Rush, they gotta know this was [...]

We’re only 8 months away from the election. Andrew Breitbart has died most likely from stress. Glenn Beck has been neutered. Rush has almost deliberately pushed himself and other rightwingers over the cliff. Rebekah Brooks was just arrested in London following up on the Rupert Murdoch charges there. Right wing heavy-weight media is in triage. And nobody is connecting those dots. Any [...]

As the South lay in the ruins of their own arrogancy, streets packed with their own wounded and dying sons of the Confederacy, and the pounding of the hooves of troops of General Sherman’s Union army approaching Kennesaw, one lone politician addresses what remains of the Southern Aristocracy, inciting them to cheer for what had already died but they did not yet accept. Cheering for their perpetual childhood where they were the center of attention. Cheering for that privilege of being entitled more so than the others. Cheering for the world where they could eat all the ice cream they wanted and be mean to the other kids without shame. As the lone politician promised to restore traditional slave-owner values guaranteed by their Constitution and their Bible, chants of “string him up” inspired the mob to raise their guns and ropes to Sherman. Product of their times.

I no longer believe his arm is being twisted. I believe it’s his desire that there is a way for Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Banks to keep on truckin’ while letting the middle class have a share, too. I no longer believe he respects Progressives POV or support. I believe his support is all [...]

An elusive map has been lurking just behind the words these past few months as I read about the Tar Sands Pipeline.  Until today.  The clouds parted, and I began digging through old VHS tapes for the name of that 2005 documentary where I first saw a pipeline map for transporting oil from the Middle [...]

No.  I’m not.  I’ve always been perplexed about what small town America looks at when they say that, and that includes my mother.  I left the Midwest after HS graduation, so I’m not like him at all.  I’m more like my great-grandfather, who  went to work as a doorman at a grand San Francisco hotel [...]

If I were writing a book, my theory would focus on the Gulf disaster as when BIG power kicked him off the playing field. They were always the World Series Champs playing the rookie Obama pitcher, but sometimes rookies get lucky. He didn’t. The BIG banks then kicked him around with Wall Street reform. It’s [...]

He’s a clever lawyer, but not a very good police chief over injustice. So this was his Perry Mason moment. He had them on the stand, and they’re guilty. Time to turn the screws. Then he dismissed them from the stand and paid them the $700 billion. Now he’s not even a clever lawyer. He’s [...]

Out of chances.  We Progressives know the feeling of betrayal that Sandra Bullock experienced this year.  The practice punch, for me, was caving in to intl corporations and their agencies of enforcement during the Gulf crisis.  The knockout punch was the guts of your campaign promise, no bonus tax cuts to the uber-wealthy. This isn’t [...]
