I recently used a community clinic for the first time. I went there for a ankle injury that wouldn’t heal. First I had to take a trip to the SS Admin to get a copy of my work history. My 1st appointment,after waiting almost two hours, it turns out they have no x-ray equipment. So I was referred to a diagnostic center where I had to pay full price for xrays then go back to the clinic for interpretation of the xrays. This was a total of four trips for me and my car isn’t running so I had to do a lot of arrangements for transportation.
Turns out my ankle is broken (fibula) All over the clinic were big signs saying no narcotics prescribed unless you have cancer. Now I didn’t ask for anything for the pain but I thought it was weird. So really I got pretty much nothing but a diagnosis after all those trips and time spent, and I’m still hurting. Oh they did send me a letter with a referral to an ortho surgeon. I just laughed when I opened it.
That’s my experience with a community clinic.

People are in denial. Also if it hasn’t hit them badly enough yet, they think it’s just happening to those “other” people. Throw in our Pravda media and the dumbing down syndrome and you can see why people won’t face up to it.

I can’t stand to listen to it but we should take a drink every time he says debt, deficit, competition, or win the future. We’ll all be drunk by the time it’s over.
