• Yep! I can’t imagine my elections staff doing anything but follow the law. I do know them and they are fully committed to doing a good job.

Signatures on Washington State ballots are checked. Political parties can still by the list of voters and challenge.

The only concern I would have for some is the controlling spouse that insists on checking the other spouse’s ballot. I didn’t open my husband’s ballot and he sealed it up after filling out as I did with mine.

I have never forgotten working at my public library in 1970 when a priest was checking out a book. I mentioned that “you” could trust a priest. He got a serious look on his face and said that was not always true. It was a warning to be watchful.

I was very glad to see that the church leadership’s actions are now under scrutiny. Maybe now they will put children first.

Maybe we should require at least six months plus a day of military service for the right to vote. That would eliminate a ton of Republicans. Shoot, we would have to find new candidates for president.

  • NetAmigo,
That would be my thought also. I hope it actually doesn’t get on the ballot, so we don’t even have to discuss it. It adds stress onto friends, who just want to live their life like everybody else does.

Randall, I’m not sure some of those early death prehistoric men and woman archaeologists have found weren’t from the first riots against the bad bosses. A B-I-L is only getting $11 an hour, yet he has worked there for 30 years. Last year he had shoulder surgery, because of the type of hard work he [...]

  • Washington State makes the filing process unbelievably easy. Shoot even the IRS bends over backward to help an entity. I have to file for several entities and can say this from personal experience. If you weren’t trying to rip anybody off, both government entities will work with you. Let’s just say this was an educational year.

My husband and I aren’t sure we would recognize the military we served in for 26 and 21 years respectively. There is a lot more overt religiousness for one. We still can’t understand the situation with Bradley Manning. He should never have had the access to material that he supposedly did. We still read the [...]

BearCountry, Granted none of us have the real facts, but a courts-martial panel is quite different than a regular jury. Education levels tend to be higher. I’m curious if Browne will ask for enlisted members on the panel, since they will most likely be Sergeant Majors. My husband and I don’t think he will get [...]

Not sure what you are getting at, but the case was pretty simple. There were buildings and a road between where this couple was going to build and the lake. The EPA folks were being total jerks, denying the couple even a right to contest their ruling. The EPA was justifiably called to task for [...]

I had several nightmarish thoughts when reading this. What about the cost of the funeral? Cantwell is my senator. I’m voting for her. Cantwell at least tried to do something about derivatives. I live in wingnuttia land, also known as Northeast Washington State, and already have a good clue what kind of yahoos we can get if I vote third party. Just look up some of the comments from my state house reps Joel Kretz and Shelley Short. Talk about being out there.

I will not vote and allow someone like Wisconsin’s Scott Walker to get power. I’m not happy with Obama, or Murray, or Cantwell, but I’m not voting third party that will allow someone to trash woman’s rights, unions, schools, and a ton of other things Republicans stand for.

First thing I thought of was the problem with having evangelical Christians gaining power and positions of authority within the military. It would never occur to them that this would be offensive, because they have no respect for anybody else’s religion.
