sunshine commented on the blog post President Obama Wins Re-Election
On second thought, maybe rovy didn’t have time to fix the numbers. So sad.
They are asking the decession desk why they called it. The Decession desk is comfortable with their call that the Prez won. -

sunshine commented on the diary post Why I won’t be voting for Barack Obama, and you shouldn’t either by principlesoverparty.
I felt the same way as the writer but then I read Michael Moore’s letter and then read this and I realized how long the list above would have been if McCain was Prez so after 2 years of thinking I wouldn’t vote again for Obama I have decided I will vote for him. And [...]

sunshine commented on the diary post Abortion Stigma Is Simply Discrimination: Here Is How We Get Rid of It by RH Reality Check.
Very good article. I came out of the closet a couple of years ago and now inform people that I have had an abortion. I would like to see those in the world that put money and effort into making abortions illegal put all that money and time making wars illegal. Is there a way [...]

sunshine commented on the diary post Looking for a Good Job? Don’t Get Your Hopes Up by Michelle Chen.
I agree, I agree, I agree. Good article Chen. And the people that are working (with no unions) are terriorized daily to work harder, produce more and more or lose their jobs. I have heard so many lately tell me how stressful their jobs are because of the pressure on them to perform better. Calling, [...]

sunshine commented on the blog post Defense Motion Details Horrific Conditions Bradley Manning Was Subjected to at Quantico
Sickening! This treatment of Pfc. Bradley just sickens me. And this, among other reasons is why Obama will NOT get my vote. No more holding my nose and voting.
What sane person would want their child or grandchild to serve for these crazy maniacs?

sunshine commented on the blog post UN Begs US to Stop Corn-Based Ethanol Production During Drought
Good article, thanks D. D.
I haven’t been tot he local Farmer’s Market but corn here at local veggie stands in my part of Mi is $5. a dozen, or $2.50 or $3.00 for half a dozen. The corn has missing kernels and tops that haven’t filled in with corn because of the drought. Not as juicy as the corn should be. People buying less corn than usual because of it. I agree, stop the making of ethanol with corn for now.

sunshine commented on the blog post Drought Relief Bill Passes House, But Won’t Help Livestock Producers Through August
Here’s a video of George Bomar, the man in charge of changing the rain patterns in Texas and how they do it, where they do it, who pays for it, etc. Wonder which companies are in the areas getting the rain and which companies are in the areas NOT getting the rain. hmm
Weather Modification in Texas Admitted As Recent as July 2011 – August 28, 2011

Common sense says slow way down on fracking since it uses so much water and put corn that was to be used for ethenol in the grocery stores instead. I don’t understand why the companies that do these things haven’t planned to do this already.
One thing that bothers me is giving help to the food industry that puts pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides in our food, and geneticly modified food on our tables.
And has any research been done on the chemicals (seeding) that many countries put into clouds to make it rain? In what way does that harm us or effect the weather or environment?
Here’s what was said about Texas seeding clouds, sorry no year given on the article, only the month and day of Feb 7:
Some areas, like Texas, have held in there despite the skeptics’ sneers, and today cloud seeding is done over about a third of the Lone Star state, a region of some 45 million acres.
Texas claims to produce more rain, over a wider area, and for a longer duration because of its weather modification program, according to George Bomar, who wrote his doctoral dissertation on the subject in 1974. But why, then, hasn’t the technology flooded the world?

I am not preferring the 1 year bill over the 5 year bill, just that why should they make a 5 year disaster bill. We should assess each years disasters, year by year.

sunshine commented on the blog post Drought Relief Bill Passes House, But Won’t Help Livestock Producers Through August
Why do they need a 5 year drought relief bill instead of a 1 year bill?

sunshine commented on the blog post Has the WikiLeaks Grand Jury Been Sending People to Bradley Manning’s Hearings?
The 1% working on WWIII reminds me of a quote from “Gangs of New York” movie:
“BOSS TWEED: Oh, I think he can. Whether it’s one man against another or a mob against the city, the mathematics remain the same. You never enjoyed the enlightenment of poverty, did you, Governor? If you had, you’d know you can always hire half the poor to kill the other half.:

sunshine commented on the diary post WAPO Runs Another Piece About Defense Contractors Unhappy About Being Thrown Off Welfare by Dean Baker.
IIRC, the last contract for airplanes was with a foreign country, it was not with Boeing. So maybe they can do extreme cutbacks with foreign contractors? Rumsfeld was on tv (around the time of the GOP primaries IIRC) wanting the military budget raised from 4% to 10%. They want the Social Security and Medicare money [...]

sunshine commented on the diary post A Texas Abortion by Anonymous Texas Woman.
Those of us who have made this difficult choice in our family planning need to be out of the closet so maybe it would not be so stigmatized. I came out of the closet a couple years ago. I have had an abortion and never regretted it.

sunshine commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Van Jones, Rebuild The Dream
Van, the issues in this post are so important to me that I will not hold my nose and vote for Dem’s who act like Rebubs just because I don’t want Repub’s to appoint SCJ’s. That scare tactic doesn’t work any more. I plan to spank the Dem party that I have been part of my entire adult life by voting for a Repub.

The election day in Wisc was the first day of the new repub drawn districts. And what a travesty the system is that allowed them to draw the districts. The elections and rules are broken and in great need of repair.
