I don’t comment often of late. I guess I’ve become too cynical/hopeless/whatever. But has Obama actually *done* anything toward making same-sex marriage possible, or did he just express an opinion? And possibly an opportunistic one? Suddenly I’m getting a flurry of “donate to Obama’s re-election fund” emails. Why? I’d like to see some real action [...]

I’m convinced that the reason Bush won the second time in Ohio was the combo of Republican controlled government here and the Republican manufactured and controlled electronic voting machines. Once again the Republicans are in control of Ohio and savaging the “ordinary people” of the state. As long as they’re in control it will be [...]

Oh, for God’s sake, Newt! Just shut up and go screw some stupid woman on an office desk, you total creep.

The only thing that makes these times bearable to me is the fact that the teabaggers’ supporters are suffering right along with us.

  • If Moobie can get away with that “won’t seek re-election” BS the people will never get rid of him. He can very easily suspend any further elections if they leave him in place.

When did our “leaders” get to be such lily-livered chickenshits?

  • It would be nice to turn over a rock and *not* find our government under it!

  • That line of “The Republicans are worse” worked fine for them. That is, until Obama proved it wasn’t true. He’s not as stupid as Bush, but he exceeds him in every other fault. I haven’t seen Obama exhibit one trait that I would identify as aligning with Democratic ideals.

  • I can’t cite a source because I don’t remember when/where I read it, but I *clearly* remember Obama being quoted as saying he wasn’t afraid “to be a one-term President”. At the time I thought that meant he was committed to making serious changes even if it jeopardized his re-election. Now I think he only needed one term to entrench the Bush excesses, make his masters and buddies richer and insure to himself a huge paycheck after he’s out.

  • We may never be free of Sarah Self-Involved Palin. Already I’ve read comments on CNN and other sites that “lefties orchestrated this shooting so they could blame Sarah”. The right-wing *loves* their victimhood, and they’ll manufacture it where none exists. Already they’re overflowing with “Poor Sarah” the “Liberals are out to get her”. They are so far gone they can’t even see reason in their rearview mirrors. I don’t think they ever will. How to get around, or past them? I don’t know. Because the media seems to love them and we (lefties) are the crazy aunts and uncles in the attic to the media.

Yes, except I don’t consider Obama to be a Democrat in any way. He may claim to be a Democrat, but in truth he’s a dishonest Republican, he is Republican but won’t admit it.

Diagree, eCAHN. I think Democrats from the (now nearly invisible) wing of the Democratic party realize that everyone has a right to their opinion, however maddening or wrong they may be. I am horrified that John Crybaby Boehner comes from Ohio, and I despise him, but I would never wish him harm. Mental health care, [...]

IMHO some right-wingers and Tea Party members use violent language because it makes them feel “tough”. They’re really not. They’re frightened little children, scared of everything, ready to give up every liberty for “safety”. And ready to espouse violence to insure lack of opposition. I only have to look at Sarah (show me the money) [...]

The media and right wing rhetoric have been so successful that I have actually seen an online poll today suggesting that Democrats promote more violence than Republicans. Of course Tea Baggers were the winners, but still…. Does anyone know of any Democrat anywhere who told listeners to “reload”, or published pictures of opponents with gunsights [...]

As long as our War Machine makes obscene profits we’ll never stop warring. I never, ever thought I would despise and revile a President of the United States as much as I did G.W. Bush. Obama has proven me wrong about that and many other things.
