This is stupid. If I can prove that you owe me $100, even without perfect documentation, the Court should enter judgment for me. If I have perfect documentation but you can show that you actually paid off the loan, then I should lose. Documents are obviously important, but in the end they are just non-exclusive evidence of the existence (or non-existence) of an obligation.
