Todd wrote a new diary post: Time For A Government Comment Bomb: US Requires WPS to Pay/Invest 307 Million For Pollution: $0 For Causing Health Problems
Laws are written so that polluters avoid personal and corporate criminal and civil liability for the health problems they cause. Otherwise, green energy would be less expensive that dirty energy. It’s estimated that in the US 160,000 people die each year as a result of pollution ( see EPA video ) and perhaps as many as 40% of all [...]

Todd wrote a new diary post: Abbas Refuses Obama’s Request to Delay Gaza UN Application: Pillar of Defense Begins
A year ago , the Palestinian Authority’s President Mahmoud Abbas sought full U.N. membership for the Gaza strip but the effort was blocked by the Obama administration, which threatened to use its veto power in the Security Council. Faced with starvation due to the six-year Israeli blockade of the region, the Palestinian Authority President stated he would seek [...]

Todd commented on the diary post Marginal Tax Rates On The 1% Were North of 90% During Eisenhower’s Administrations by BooRadley.
But don’t you also need to analyze this in terms of the effective tax rates. For example, as I recall & I could be wrong, effective tax rates didn’t go down under Kennedy due to loop hole tightening. Also, U.S. has lowest effective tax rate for businesses but higher tax rates which Plutocratic PR frequently [...]

This is what America should be all about. Thanks to Occupy Sandy for showing the way.
The Bloomberg Plutocrats need to apologize and move over. Time for a real change.

Todd commented on the diary post Post-Election Watercooler by Kit OConnell.
Professionalism is another example (see post about APA). We develop professional organizations based no credentials, schooling etc. … You get credit for everything except outcomes. IMO we live in a society where it’s acceptable for people to profit from hurting other people and difficult to make a living helping others. We need to turn the [...]

Todd commented on the diary post Plutocrats Are the Same the World Over by masaccio.
To further document your point, the OECD has a report out that argues the Plutocrats are sucking the life out of everyone in developed countries and recommends more middle & lower class wealth, higher taxes on wealthy etc. …

This post is on the recommended reading list?? Well I’ll answer a completely nonserious post somewhat nonseriously. Advice to anyone trying to get more hits on their website or dates. Don’t blame celebrities for the number of hits you’re not receiving. If you want people to know that you exist try posting interesting and useful [...]

Todd commented on the diary post Anti-Torture Psychologists Respond to Attack from APA Division Chief by Jeff Kaye.
DSM is voted on and controlled by Psychiatrists when research and expertise is among psychologists which illustrates the problem. Both Psychiatric and Psychological APAs have become special interest organizations that can easily be co-opted. In addition, to the examples you listed my personal favorite is changing the DSM definition of antisocial personality to excluded businessman. [...]

Todd wrote a new diary post: Three Hundred+ Misleading Media Stories About American Racism Thanks to the AP
When the AP released a poll last week claiming that Romney had won over women voters there was a lot laughing. Few took the poll seriously and new and old polls have debunked to the poll. However, that didn’t happen when a second even more misleading AP poll was released the same day. The second poll claimed [...]

Todd commented on the diary post Morality and Voting for Obama by cassiodorus.
In regards to what you claim is hypothetical, it’s actually based on research it was estimated that 25,000 to 50,000 lives were lost prior to implementation of Obamacare and that most of those lives will be saved with Obamacare but that’s a drop in the bucket compared to the number that Obama and Romney allow to [...]

Todd commented on the diary post Morality and Voting for Obama by cassiodorus.
I agree generally but another important thing you can do is informing and persuading others and increasing the size and breath of the community. I disagree there are big differences between Obama and Romney in terms of the time it takes for things to go down hill. With Obamacare about 72,000 additional lives are saved [...]

Todd commented on the diary post People, This Democratic and Republican Thing Ain’t Working by Kurt Sperry.
You fix this by protesting, informing etc. … Voting or not voting is irrelevant. It’s also absurd to claim that there is no difference between the candidates. Romney’s position will kill an additional 72,000 per year that Obamacare won’t. Romney’s position on pollution will kill additional people from the environment. Romney’s position on civil rights [...]
