I come here to post this comment once or twice a year:
Is it a bug or a feature?
The bill was drafted by private health insurance lawyers. Hard to believe it was an “oversight.”

The whole cancer fundraising industry is scam. Look at ACS, American Cancer Society. To them, nothing causes cancer except cigarettes. Who funds them? The cancer causing and cancer treating industry.
None of these cancer charities wants to cure cancer. Treat it profitably, more like it.
Can someone explain to me why Progressives should be in favor of any kind of amnesty for illegals? It’s just putting more pressure on middle class earners.
I think this is relevant here. Behind them all is the military.
While he doesn’t say it, seems pretty clear the military killed Kennedy because he wasn’t for more war. That’s the conclusion I draw from this piece, anyway.
Bush’s 5th term is it now?

Yes, because they pull this crap on Dems all the time. Remember Rush’s operation chaos?
I keep posting the same thing: “it’s not a bug, it’s a feature.”
Why do you assume he is just relenting and giving the Republicans what they want?
Maybe it’s what he wants?
Like EVERYTHING else he does? He doesn’t want to do anything good (ie., progressive), he just wants to blame Republicans for not being able to do anything good. Like Nixon with “plausible deniability.” That’s all he’s going for.
You always assume he’s just being stupid or obstinate. He’s not. He’s doing what HE wants. But this way he FOOLS all the idiots into thinking it’s not him.
Or like my wife always says: he pretends like he’s someone who just works in the White House. Not that he can get anything done.
When will you consider — he’s doing what HE wants done. Nothing more. Nothing less. Just like the health care bill. It’s what he and the Repubs wanted, even if they didn’t have to vote for it.

Really, it’s the only way to understand EVERYTHING he does. You’re right. It’s always for the 1 %.
Obama doesn’t care about white people. Or black people.

Block quotes in italics are pretty much unreadable. http://webstyleguide.com/wsg3/8-typography/5-typographic-emphasis.html Italics Italicized text attracts the eye because it contrasts in shape from body text. Use italics for convention—for example, when listing book or magazine titles—or within text for stressed or foreign words and phrases. Avoid setting large blocks of text in italics because the readability of [...]

How can this possibly be legal?
I don’t get money from my parents. Even if they stole it, how can they collect it from me?
You guys used to sue people in federal court, how can this not result in a massive lawsuit?
Tominator commented on the blog post How the Filibuster Might Cost Democrats the Senate
Well, nobody ever accused Obama of giving a crap about any other elected official other than his own self. He does NOT care if he takes the party over a cliff. It’s all about him.
My favorite Obama fun fact is the guy who said “no more secret deals negotiated in back rooms in secret” is the guy trying to fast-track the TPP, a deal so odious it can’t be revealed before voting.
Didn’t Bush do the same damn thing?
Tell me again the difference between Obama and Dubya?
He’s running Bush’s 3rd and 4th terms.

Author John Twelve Hawks in the Taveler novels predicted this type of security state merged with corporations. Prescient. This book opened my eyes because afterwards, I kept seeing more and more signs of what the books describe.

Tominator commented on the blog post Nancy Pelosi Comes Out Against TPP Fast Track Bill
You answered my why? Question: Why does the TPP need fast track:
Fast track authority is necessary to pass TPP because so many awful things are within it that it would be very difficult drive it through Congress any other way.
Can you elaborate on that? Maybe that’s all that needs to be said but I’ve been wondering this all along. Why is the debate over the fast track of the TPP and not the TPP itself? Because it’s still secret?
So then the plan is spring it quickly before anyone can read it? Ala Patriot Act?

Do any of the court watchers, reporters, anticipate the jury actually convicting on this nonsense?
Tominator commented on the blog post Federal Judge Asks Why Wall Street Executives Haven’t Been Prosecuted
Great piece but I have to take exception with one statement:
They identify with the banks on a deep psychic level and the thought of hurting those banks causes them psychic pain not to mention if they kill off enough banks who will be their clients?
Even you fall into this false notion that by prosecuting bankers we would be prosecuting banks. The entire top level of management of Citi, BoA or any of these banks could ALL go to jail and the bank emerge unscathed. Banks are run by people, after all, and people commit crimes.
The DOJ has been deliberately prosecuting (civilly) the banks instead of the true criminals, the bankers in charge of the banks. I don’t think the prosecutors identify with the banks so much as they do with the bankers. You know, the ones who give them jobs in this revolving door in DC.
