tomsj commented on the blog post I didn’t know that ‘evolving’ on marriage equality was such hard work for Obama
If he wins reelection, he’ll tell us whether he’s evolved sufficiently to support us when he sees how many of us voted for him a second time around. Unfortunately, I imagine that a fair number of us will still be “evolving” on Barack Obama.

tomsj commented on the blog post Gay/gender identity panic wins as McInerney murder case results in mistrial
Would the verdict have been different if McInerney had not been tried as an adult? I understand all the frustration with the gay panic defense, but McInerney was a child. I personally would have had serious qualms about convicting him as though he had the emotional stability and reason of an adult, notwithstanding the brutality and pre-meditation of the crime.

Does Santorum remind anyone else of Dan Quayle? Well, yeah, he doesn’t have the looks, but he does have the brains, or lack thereof. We know he’d hate Murphy Brown’s baby. Wonder if he can spell potatoe.

tomsj commented on the blog post Goodwin Liu To Get Senate Floor Vote On Cloture Thursday
If you’re expecting the Obama Whitehouse to have an actual plan for getting Liu confirmed, think again. Obama NEVER has a plan. Witness the stupidity involved in her “shepherding” of the DADT repeal. The fact that the repeal succeeded had NOTHING to do with Obama, however much he’d like to take credit for it.
