TrumpetDC commented on the blog post In wake of ExxonMobil’s rejection of LGBT non-discrimination protections, WH dodges executive order again
The President’s marriage announcement pretty much sucked the life out of the ENDA EO. Here’s to hoping we can bring it back into the forefront!
I keep wondering why the White House is afraid of ENDA. The only think I can come up with is that he’s afraid of losing donations to his super-PAC from federal contractors. His reluctance here just makes no sense.

TrumpetDC commented on the blog post NC Pastor Charles ‘put gays behind electric fence to die’ Worley now under media microscope
“Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there. ”
This is the first I paid attention to this guy. I read the headlines, but he just seemed too crazy to pay attention to. After now reading about him, I think I was right. In particular, I love the line I quoted above. I’m now picturing this Maginot Line-like fence that there are a bunch of LGBT people just walking around. :)

TrumpetDC commented on the blog post So, should I go to see the Avengers?
It’s a great movie. It’s fun and plays with the tropes of superhero movies. Under my friends’ advice, I went and saw it in 2D. The 3D made the movie darker and they felt some of the beginning of the movie was too hard to see.
One thing you’re probably not going to like is the lack of gender and ethnic diversity. This made me sad since generally speaking my favorite avengers are the women, and I think from the way he’s usually drawn, the Falcon is one of the most attractive men of Marvel. What makes this particular bad to me is that there are tons of women and POC (green and blue don’t count) in the Avengers to chose from.

TrumpetDC commented on the blog post NC: Triangle icon and ally Pam Saulsby goes into ‘Mommy Bear’ protect mode: Vote Against Amendment One
Is “Pam” the North Carolina slang term for “Awesome” or “Kick Ass”? It’s gotta be something positive! :)

Arora is contemptible, but is he the only person who voted “no” that deserves our attention?
