warp9 commented on the diary post Those they despise ….. by cmaukonen.
From the diary above:
Because the people who voted these folks and others like them into office really do believe in the same things that their representatives believe in. That’s why.
I agree. But my explanation for why those people keep getting votes is that some voters are really stupid.
They hate Obamacare and taxes and all [...]

warp9 commented on the blog post Wells Fargo Forecloses On Homeowner For Making Early Mortgage Payments
It is really hard for the Government, with all its resources and powers, to make a case against a large Bank, so I’m not surprised your matter (probably somewhere less than a billion or so) would not be accepted by an attorney.
But lets be fair, the Government is really busy right now going after people like Bradly Manning, and spying on the Press (and spying on the populace in general), so it’s hard for them to find the time to go after the banks.

warp9 commented on the diary post Graduated Arrogance and Measured Mediocrity by cmaukonen.
The “bean counters” began calling the shots long before the Clinton and Reagan regimes. By the late 1950s it was becoming obvious that decisions that should have been made by engineers and scientists were being made by accountants and marketing.
Perhaps we need to construct a B-arc and put these people on it. We can tell [...]

warp9 commented on the blog post Review: ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ Mirrors Present Where US Has Transformed World into Battlefield
Great Diary!
And thanks for the spoiler warning, although it might have been better to hold off a bit till more people have had the chance to see the movie first. I personally like to wait a bit until the theaters have cleared out a bit, so I haven’t seen it myself yet.

warp9 commented on the diary post The Impeachment of President Obama — Act I by Ohio Barbarian.
Good point, but what “the people who funded his campaigns” did was spend money persuading OTHER people to vote for him, and who were THOSE people?
Who were those people? I think a lot of them fit into the “Choosing the Lesser of Evils” category. Because of the current system, which is controlled by the plutocrats, [...]

warp9 commented on the diary post The Impeachment of President Obama — Act I by Ohio Barbarian.
Twice now you’ve bitched about my saying Obama was elected by the “Left” or “Liberals” and failed to say who he should be blamed on.
Your question might be aimed at OB, but my own answer is as follows. . . . Obama should be blamed on the people who funded his campaigns and helped him [...]

warp9 commented on the diary post The Impeachment of President Obama — Act I by Ohio Barbarian.
Excuse me ??? What do you think racism is about ? It about on race having all the power and money and control over every other race because they are (…..pick one).
I disagree. I’d say that it is purely about GREED. The only color the One-Percenters care about is green (money). If you got money [...]

warp9 commented on the diary post The Impeachment of President Obama — Act I by Ohio Barbarian.
Well, I went for Obama in 2008, silly me.
Yes, that was silly. You clearly weren’t paying attention to what a scum-ball Obama was (there were many indications even before he was elected President).
Still, you made the most succinct rebuttal to Democratic Nader-bashers I’ve ever seen. Well done.
I hope that the democrats do blame 3rd party [...]

warp9 commented on the blog post “The Pool” Doesn’t Exist, That Is the Real Problem
Let’s face it; the GOP has no interest in insuring people of color and others that aren’t part of their electoral constituency. They will continue to stand on the sidelines, lean on the Constitution and yell “socialism, socialism”, all the while offering tepid and ineffectual market based solutions.
A tepid and ineffectual market based solution? That is exactly what Obama’s ACA is.

Why Democrats are fighting for a Republican health plan
Here is the ultimate paradox of the Great Health Care Showdown: Congress will divide along partisan lines to pass a Republican version of health care reform, and Republicans will vote against it.
Yes, Democrats have rallied behind a bill that Republicans — or at least large numbers of them — should love. It is built on a series of principles that Republicans espoused for years.

warp9 commented on the diary post A sustainable economy ? Think again. by cmaukonen.
From the diary above:
I feel however that nearly all these ideas leave out one one basic calculation and that is the ever increasing population. The continued strain we are putting on the resources that we have, which are finite.
I fully agree. Overpopulation is a real key issue. If we keep getting more and [...]

warp9 commented on the diary post Dear MSM: Spare Me Your Lame, “Dow Soars!” pieces. I want Comeuppance Stories! by spocko.
IMO a big comeuppance that should have happened but didn’t was the 2012 Presidential Election. There are lots of idiots in the country, and if they are going to get representation, I guess we are going to have republicans. However, the more sane and intelligent citizens also deserve representation, but we are not getting it [...]

Bill Maher isn’t perfect, but I think he sometimes has some good points. For example, I liked his bit about how that Democrats have turned into Republicans:

warp9 commented on the diary post What Steps is anyone willing to take ? – Another reality check by cmaukonen.
> The powers that be’s sole power is the power of obedience. Also too, the powers of life and death
Nope. They don’t have any super-human abilities (like shooting death-rays from their eyes, or anything like that). They depend on various people below them to carry out their wishes, if that stops happening, the so-called “powers [...]

warp9 commented on the blog post Why Insurance Exchanges Won’t Work: People Don’t Like Choosing Insurance
The Right went bat shit crazy over the flawed plan that was passed, so single payer would never had had a chance in this political environment.
So they would have gone “bat shit crazyer” over single payer?
Sorry, that is one of the things about the Right-Wing noise machine being turned up to max volume all the time, they couldn’t really get any louder, even if we did actually get true lefty policies.
And the fact is that Obama’s plan was originally a Right-Wing idea anyway (put forth by the conservative Heritage Foundation). The following article may be enlightening. . . .

Yes, Obama is as much a part of the problem as his republican allies.
Climate Change is a perfect example of how that simply being slightly better than the republicans is NOT good enough.
