WeirdDave commented on the blog post Andrew Breitbart Died And That Is Why We Have a Black President
They said their site was among to first to sound the alarm bell on what they consider to be skewed presidential polls, and took pride in introducing new arguments into the “Benghazi coverup.”
Good times, good times…

BTW, snow is NOT like really, really cold water.
Snow is fluffy. And light. ( – And cold. – ) And you can jump off cliffs with sticks strapped to your feet into it. ( – And cold. – ) And make snowmen out of it. ( – And cold. – ) And dogs love it.* ( – And cold. – )
So, NOT like really, really cold water. At all.
*Maybe not your dogs.

My best wishes to you and yours wherever the future takes you, and if I get a basset a week and Shakira’s ass every now and then I’ll be happy.
Yet, somehow, I get the feeling you’ll be around a little more than that. So, as the kids say, no worries. And yes, that is a lovely image. Kudos to the young’en who created it.

Now now, let’s be nice.
If I was going to compare Obama to a Republican I would pick Nelson Rockefeller (and yes, I remember Attica). -

Must….resist….political….rant….no…..one…..wants…..
Ah, fuck it.
Believe it or not, Obama is a centrist, a corporatist. He is, as a truly dear, now gone friend put it to me first, a Republican.
Not the modern, rabidly hating, science denying, dog whistling, randian assholes that are the current state of the Republican Party, but an old school, party of business but not pure insanity Republican. Now is this an improvement over the rabidly hating, science denying, dog whistling, randian assholes that are the current state of the Republican Part? I believe so. It may not be much, but there is a difference.
Look, if you want to talk about how to move the so-called Overton Window to the left, please, let’s hear you suggestions (here is mine: help the Democrats hold the Senate this year and take your best shot with the 2016 primary).
But this is what we have right now.And please, feel free. Continue to remind our President, and anyone who’ll listen that, just like all his predecessors for the last fifty years, he does have people killed. He does make decisions based on what is best for business and not necessarily what is best for people. He does compromise, not fulfill promises and expectations, and in some cases sell out his core supporters.
So be it. This is American politics. There is much I am not very happy with. But there are positive things too. At least the Democrats have the let’s-get-corporate-money-out-of-politics amendment plank in their platform (not that I’ll live to see it). Obama will almost certainly do better with Supreme Court nominees than Romney. Again, it may be marginal, but I’ll take what I can get.
And finally (thank you), I live in a state with a Senate seat up for grabs, and may actually get a true progressive as a Congressperson. I am going to work for them and if we win it improves things, if only by a little. And next time we’ll try again, and with more.
Politics is a long game. The Cock Brothers and the rabid right have plans over many election cycles. So should the progressives. -
