While I might agree with you, ask yourself how long those wars lasted and if anyone knew they were coming. I think it is a very unfair comparison.

I see the nihilists meet here. Sure, completely destroy government in order to rebuild it to your liking. Let the court go far right so your children can pay the price for minimum 50 years. Brilliant. If you think the Teapers aren’t going to keep Mitt’s feet to the fire and force him to stay [...]

  • Because auto workers, employees of all the auto industry supporting businesses haven’t forgotten who did what for them. In addition, Mittens left this state at 17 and never looked back. He only shows up when claiming this as his “home” when he can benefit from the association. Do you realize how many states he calls home? I’ve heard Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Utah. I don’t know where his other 7 houses are (I call them houses as opposed to homes, because when you have that many, they are just houses). In addition, a lot of people in Michigan are not too crazy about our new Republican governor and legislature who are raising taxes on pensions and slashing education budgets, Medicaid, etc. We aren’s stupid here. Of course, we also won’t put a win in the column of whoever runs against a Democrat.

  • A whole pile of possibilities–Louis and Marie Antoinette, Seamus and Cruella deVille. We might be able to get Milton-Bradley to devise a board game for this one.

The Evangelicals of the “C” Street in Washington back all sorts of dictators and take all kinds of prosletyzing trips to corrupt countries. They have been backing the “kill the gays” leadership in Uganda. Any religion that does missionary work anywhere in the world is suspect. I’m sure France loved having Romney and later, all [...]

Ah, but is it not the Catholic Church trying to force its beliefs on its employees, most of which probably are not Catholic? It is a two-way street which is why the President’s accommodation should satisfy them because the issue is now between the insurance companies and the employees at no cost to the church. [...]

Have been doing some reading since seeing an article saying that, oddly enough, Antonin Scalia may be on Obama’s side on this issue and David Boies affirmed it in an interview with Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday night. They both contened that this isn’t actually a First Amendment issue because law of the land supercedes when [...]

I’m in St. Joseph, directly across the big water from Chicago. Since I stopped in earlier, we now have 15 inches on the ground. Coming down at about 2 inches an hour. My snow plowing fella showed up so I got out to go to the gas station because I was dangerously close to running on fumes. Visibility was about 20 yards. Hope it quits soon as I have to go to a dear friend’s 60th birthday at 6:30; will have to have the driveway done again before that.

In what Indiana city/town do you live? I used to work in Portage on the lake years ago and go to Michigan City quite often to shop the outlet mall.

Just dropped in this morning while resting up after digging my car out. Molly M, I’m not far from you. I am in southwestern lower Michigan on Lake Michigan and we got 11 inches overnight and it’s still coming down so its good you are going to do your errands. It is really light and fluffy stuff. Can’t move the car that I should have put in the garage last night, but didn’t. Have a steep drive up to street so have to wait for the fella that does my plowing. It really is beautiful and our first real snow of the winter. Everyone have a great day.

  • Bravo for you points.

  • He reiterated today that the policy is firm. He is the President of all thge people, not just the Catholics. If you give an exemption to one religion, you have all of them jumping up and down. There is afterall, a separation of church and state in the Constitution whether Repubs want to acknowledge that or not. The President’s decision on issues of health shouldn’t be ruled by politics or religion any more than the Komen foundation should have based their decision on religion or politics.

  • I wonder if it is the same infallibility they feel about the issue of pedophilia and the fact that they hid it, moved the abusers around the country and world and paid off the victims. That infallibility?

Having worked for one of the “million a year” sponsors and done SGK events and product placement, I can tell you that is what happened. The recruited companies with products specific to female consumers and none of them would want the taint of political agenda on their brand.

I remember when New York legalized abortion. I was in my early 20′s and I remember seeing a woman from Oklahoma on the news getting on a plane to go to New York for an abortion. I was almost gleeful because I remember my mother telling me horror stories about women of her generation dying from back alley abortions. We can’t let them get away with all these steps toward overturning Roe v Wade. If we don’t, the Taliban USA will have won.
