Does not seem right to condemn a whole generation because this happened? Is there not “problems” with each generation? when viewed by the younger or older generation?
A better discussion is what drives these behaviors? Greed? Hate? Fear? and why? -

Conservatives love it when state, local, federal government agencies have to pay out any kind of settlement, just bleeds some more money from them so that is all good ….. the citizens will (mostly) never know and it will be just another talking point about how government is incompetent. Police, secret service, defense will never have to fear about cutbacks because they protect those in charge of everything from those who are not in charge.

How come no D ever puts a legislative “hold” on anything or uses the filibuster? Why is it always the R that does these things? How come a D never calls an R “unamerican” by name? How come a D never says an R does not support the troops and therefore hates America?
If there is anyone left without greed for money or power I wish he or she would hold this legislation, let the default happen and in two days there would be a debt ceiling raised without any “attachments” ….. but what do I know I am only a concerned citizen. -

the budget put forth by the progressive caucus did a pretty good job in reducing spending and restoring tax rates to pre Bush levels. I just wish they would have gotten rid of the deduction for church giving and 2nd and 3rd home mortgage interest deducts. If you want to give to a church … go ahead but why should the gov’t subsidize it?

Excellent point Joel …. agree with all 3 of those attributes, in addition I believe it is her brain that carries the day! Esp. when it must get so old talking to the type of people she has to interface with in the media …. ugh!

I liked it Jane Hamsher, you did well even tho it is hard to talk over Big Ed when he wants the stage/mic. WelshTerrier2 and Username nailed it pretty much about Ed.
I know what I will do with my ballot in 2012 and it will personally satisfying, more than it has been from 2008. -

Not sure I can get excited about the judicial nominations just because they are Obama’s nominations, nor just because they are gay. Do you think this judge could be open to agreeing with Citizens United? or that Wal_Mart is the best thing for the country?

Good old days ….. does anyone else get these emails that go on and on about the good old days? (usually the 50′s or early 60′s)? Usually what a great place kids had to grow up around and baseball and cars and how wonderful life is/was?
None of these ever address the segregation problems during the time or that unions were very strong during that time or that a coat hanger was used as a method of birth control or how women were 2nd class citizens or how the wealth class was only earning 10x the average salary not 400x ….
I guess it is selective memory and it enhances how corrupted the country they want back has become. -
