william commented on the blog post Caring for the Poor Is Up for Debate in the Catholic Church?
Most of these comments show no understanding of what the followers of Saint Benedict are suppose to be. Benedict was no social service provider, he left Rome for a cave in the hills country way out of town to get away from every kind of person, rich or poor, and established a Monastery, a School of the Lord’s Service. He could have stayed in Rome and served the poor in many ways but that was not his calling or for his followers. The Rule of Saint Benedict quoted here was for the administration and operation of a Monastery for professed male monks, had nothing to do with governments, territories, diocese, feminists or cities, socialism, welfare state or Democrats!!!!!
