I always find it disturbing that any adult human being could seriously believe in the “God vs. Satan” rhetoric. But then, I guess, the Bible instructs people to “be as little children.” This kind of thinking is really holding humanity back.

Technically, given the literal meaning of the word “homosexuality,” that’s an accurate statement, which is precisely why our opponents like that word so much. They use it deliberately because the word itself makes no age distinctions, allowing them to conveniently lump all so-called “homosexuals” into one category.

Unions, despite their many flaws, are absolutely essential for keeping a leash on corporate greed, because corporations only care as much about their employees as they are forced to. We need to strengthen and expand the unions into every corner of corporate America.

We also need a public health system; health insurance should not be tied to employment.

Thank God for the organizations who aren’t going to let them get away with it.

When are the centrist mainstream news outlets like CNN and USA Today going to start reporting on the Faux News tabloid gossip machine?

Unfortunately, there are still many ignorant people out there who believe in the vomit these bigots spew. We need to strike at their rotted heart by filing a lawsuit against Paul Cameron for slander and libel. That would make them all think twice before regurgitating his defamatory garbage.

Oy. Let me put it this way: promiscuity doesn’t just apply to sex, it applies to any intimate activity, including mouth to mouth kissing and oral sex, and even close skin to skin contact. Also, most communicable diseases can be transmitted via some form of intimate activity, not just STDs. Promiscuity puts one’s self and others at risk.

Sex doesn’t involve sloppy, wet kisses?

I was wondering how long it would take the bigots to jump on the outbreak story. Not long apparently. Though their opportunistic hate sickens me, I also agree with the above posters, and now I’m going add something that I’ve taken flak for saying in the past:

It wouldn’t hurt our community to develop a more conservative attitude toward promiscuity. Sexual liberation is great if you live in a utopian fantasy where disease doesn’t exist, but unfortunately, here on Earth, disease has always been and always will be with us… and it loves mucus membranes and bodily fluids as a means of moving from one host to the next.

This video is very clearly attempting to promote anti-LGBT violence. Let’s hope it’s too incredibly stupid to succeed.

Of course, NOM won’t mention the real reasons (some of them positive) for the falling marriage rates, because then they’d be seen for the dinosaurs they are, even by most conservatives. So, they’ll just blame it all on “Teh Gay.”

I would think that there’s some way we could sue these guys for slander and libel, both of which are not protected speech under the First Amendment.

Transgender issues are not limited to transsexuals. They also apply to gay men and women who are perceived as not fitting gender stereotypes.

It certainly sounds to me like there could have been some anti-trans bias in this incident, deliberate or not. Whether or not that’s true, they shouldn’t be suppressing this sort of expression at all.

If they wanted a sea of American flags (a good idea, BTW), all they had to do was pass them out to everyone. Let that sea be dotted by trans flags, and rainbow flags, and others; it’s still a sea of American flags, and there’s nothing wrong with having some other colors besides red, white and blue mixed in.

I grudgingly offer the Assemblies of God a nod of respect.

Presumably, Mr. Morrison is putting young men raised by lesbian couples in the same category with those raised by single mothers and calling them all “fatherless young men.” But it’s a false comparison. I would challenge him to tell us how many teen murderers were actually raised by committed lesbian couples.

I understand the cynicism here, and it’s well justified, but…

I usually agree with you, Pam, but I think you’re going too far with this one. This racist pig is a nobody and rest of the people in the room clearly see him for the idiot he is. If he were a prominent and respected conservative whose words actually carried some weight among his ilk, you’d have a point.

As it is though, it’s really not much different than Matt Barber going to the Folsom Street Fair, taking video of the most outrageous things he can find, then posting it and using it to represent the entire LGBT community.
