and jane @57: this is really an interesting read. It is unfortunate that EFB comes across as being a hate blogger, knowing he was just the opposite. I hope we can clarify that some time. But I like the unconventional tone of the paper (in part it reads like a political essay) and its reference [...]

I have a new blog entry: The Boston Globe’s failed “historic” Marathon finish line photo shooting

Allegedly the “Eureka” (i.e. Forum camera) video has been given to the defense. But there was a debate that the defense couldn’t watch it because it was encrypted and they lacked the key. Curious what the state of the affairs is now. IF the defense has seen the video, then they also know if the [...]

This is not confusing. This is crystal-clear. The Business Week confirms what the best source (Jane) has said. As I said, the Herald’s version doesn’t make really sense anyway. On a side note, og, maybe this is the wrong place for you here? FDL is a left-leaning, progressive forum. With the Herald and Fox being [...]

Thanks Jane! Seems like a case of telepathy ;-)

Now we see how important is it to have you at the hearings. And the Herald and Fox should be forced to retract this annoying misinformation.

Bruck argues on the condition that the official story is correct; this doesn’t mean he affirms the condition itself. The myfoxboston quote of Bruck is even more misleading, they kicked off three words. Again, the Herald version doesn’t make sense, why should Bruck add a redundant “and it is a fact”, and how does he [...]

Now this leak is interesting! First, I don’t think the leak is intended/suited to contribute to the demonization of DT: because the existence and the content have been known for a long time, nothing shocking to see here. Second, the question arises if the defense has seen it already as part of discovery; probably not. [...]

You are entitled to your guilt admission and plea deal fantasies, but psst – maybe you shouldn’t rely on other sources than the Boston Herald as your primary news source. The Boston Globe writes this here:

David I. Bruck, one of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s attorneys, said the defense team was asking for any information that Tamerlan Tsarnaev [...]

Thanks Jane, I agree with lw – the most informative report so far. My problem with the non-involved listener is – is there any control mechanism that he will NOT report to the FBI? His sisters might tell DT about the support which he’s getting outside, the growing outrage and the mounting evidence that he’s [...]

On the various memorial services yesterday, a similar picture. Who did attend? Not many. The Richard Family, and Adrienne Haslet-Davis and David Yepes hold a short speech. I’ve spotted no other victims of the second bomb site do far. The Norden Brothers preferred to stay away from the memorial services and did a walk along [...]

Pretty rought tone in the document – the defense makes it clear that it has lost the patience.

So, Ladies and Gentlemen…interesting news… It was meant to be a historic photo shooting, and they call it just that. The Boston Globe invited “survivors, police, firefighters, EMTs, doctors, nurses, runners, political figures, store owners, the Boston Athletic Association, Red Sox and Bruins player” for a photo shooting last Sunday. The most welcome group were certainly [...]

Heather Abbott, Marc Fucarile, the Norden Brothers, Roseanne Sdoia, Adrienne Haslet-Davis – the most affected people of the second bomb site, and noone of them is on the photo (with the remarkable exception of the Richard Family…)! Strikes me odd. Did Carmen Ortiz not invite them? Would a common photo with them possibly damage her [...]

I always thought that the FBI experts in Quantico know that there’s something extremely odd with the official story – the firework powder etc. – and that these guys own the potential to bust it if someone is ready to blow the whistle.

Yes, that’s what I thought. She doesn’t really belong to this group, at least not more than the boss of the Boston water works.

A few prominent witnesses seem to be lacking on the photo, Jeff Baumann, Heather Abbott, Adrienne Haslet-Davis – and Jarrod Clowery…

Today the Globe has a big photo as an opener with victims, first responders, runners, officials, etc. – and Carmen Ortiz again. This photo session was probably her idea. Again she tries to substitute her poor performance in the pretrial by activating the media and playoing the “victims” card.

What I find outraging about the NatGeo from a journalistic point of view – I haven’t seen the whole thing, only concluding it from comments, so correct me if I’m wrong – that they don’t seem to care if the viewer percepts reenacted scenes as authentic. I just can speak about the preview I saw. [...]

I wonder how donators of Clowery’s charity foundation, the “Heroes Heart Foundation”, will react when they learn that there’s something not right with his story. Will they sue him to get their money back?

    *sigh* another failed interpretation.

Armstrong says that he personally led the squad for 12 hours. I mean he had deserved a break after that, don’t you think so? Time for his colleagues to step in.

There is a photo (A) with Aaron Hern lying on the sidewalk. There is a photo (B) with Aaron Hern being carried away by three men. A has been shot before B – where’s the problem? A was shot about 1 minute after the blast, B about 5 minutes after the blast, if I recall [...]
