  • Second that – JGB doing Tough Mama may be my favorite and The Dead doing Visions of Johanna was sometimes nearly perfect.

Handsome Harry - James Carlos Blake. Blake does Dillinger from the Harry Pierpont perspective. What you would expect – Ultraviolence and Lurid Sex that soars on occasion into the mythic… My daughter calls Blake a poor mans Cormac McCarthy – (to which my son replied – Oh, You mean you can actually read him…)

-The Stars My Destination- and -The Demolished Man- by Alfred Bester
Fundamental works. Fun reading about really big ideas. William Burroughs
Nova Express and the other two in the trilogy are really good sci-fi that’s usually read as allegory with a real straight face, missing a lot of fun.

Try the Bester, especially -The Stars My Destination-

“Chinese Eyes” is excellent! Pete always seems kind of relieved on his solo albums not having to find a place for Daltry to scream.
