On Friday afternoon, Senator Bernie Sanders took the floor of the US Senate for nearly nine hours in a lengthy speech about the Obama-GOP tax plan. While some observers called it a filibuster, Bernie wasn’t actually stalling any legislation on the floor of the Senate. Nonetheless, his speech was an eloquent defense of economic justice in America.
The true test will be if Bernie can bring 39 other Senators to the floor today to stop the Obama-GOP tax plan in an actual filibuster. (Not likely.) While we wait for the Senate to sell the American people down the river, here’s a word cloud of the entire transcript of Bernie Sanders’ floor speech.

Way better than my twitter cloud which is ‘dude’ and ‘tomorrow’
It’s a great cloud… look how large PEOPLE is!

I’m sure TPMDC or the orange beast or HuffPo have already broken this, but WaPo’s big propaganda push for the WH deal concealed a stunning trick of censorship. WaPo only released the results of five questions out of a 36-question poll. The “full poll” link inside the WaPo coverage states on its face:
Questions 1 to 13 held for future release.
Questions 19 to 36 held for future release.

Stunning. Just amazing. Blatant manipulation or concealment of poll results to push the oligarchs’ desired outcome.
forgot the quotation marks. Add quotes as follows:
“Questions 1 to 13 held for future release.
**********
“Questions 19 to 36 held for future release.”
Hey Fractal…you should really diary this and I say that in the most encouraging way. It should be its own story and full tilt headline. thanks for sharing it.
cool word cloud. very cool.
Surprisingly (to me anyway), the one word I’m not seeing anywhere in that cloud is fairness
Not that I expect things to ever be fair
Just wanted to point out that Bernie said you could call “this a filibuster or …a very long speech..” – this really is not an exact quote. Sorry. He gave me hope, something I have not had in a long time and which will surely be dashed by today’s vote.
We will be sold out!!
I’m surprised the word “billionaires” is so small. I thought we lefties were all about class warfare (and maybe we should be).
The tax cuts for the ridiculously wealthy will pass without much flinching by anyone. Mark my words.
What do you think the corporate media is there for? To indoctrinate, propagandize and preserve the status quo. Do we really expect the corporate media and their celebrity mouth pieces to change their M.O?
Was “Banana Republic” found in the cloud?
When this county implodes it will begin in the states and spread out from there.
