On Tuesday I went to GritTV’s New York City studios to discuss the HBGary and AnonLeaks developments with respect to the role of the US Chamber of Commerce in spying on American citizens for political activities. Lee Fang, the reporter from ThinkProgress who, along with Marcy Wheeler, first reported on HBGary’s work with the Chamber joined us for the discussion.

one of the great comeuppances of all time
Mike’s last point was great and I’m so glad he had the time to say it.
Very well done.
Hey, Watchdog Media, are you paying attention? This guy knows his stuff. Probably, in Legacy Media World, that’s not a mark in someone’s favor. But you all should be embarrassed not to have had Mike on, nonetheless.
More of this please, Michael.
I still can’t get over the fact that our taxpayer dollars went to start all this NSA spy stuff, and here we find our DOJ is recommending business entities to use it on US soil/Citizens without FISA rules. Plus, let’s not forget the company using it is a PRIVATE company started by ex-military personnel.
I’m telling ya, if the connections and dollars thrown around in our Government don’t get you, then you simply aren’t paying attention. The rest of us little people have to make big things happen all on our own! Amazing, isn’t it? All these people, powerful, mighty, and the ones holding the keys to our well being are the biggest WELFARE QUEENS in the world!
Let’s not forget that we used to have Spencer Ackerman here. And then the Manning/Lamo thing got started….
Feeling like a gangsta now, HB Gary?

Congratulations on getting what you deserve, you ignorant twerp.
OT– Army unit ‘defects’ in Benghazi and unconfirmed reports that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddaf may have fled the country. Gaddafi’s son warns of a civil war that will burn Libya’s oil wealth. Death toll possibly over 200. More at Al Jazeera English’s “Libya clashes spread to Tripoli” and “live blog – Libya” (hat tip quiet Bill at The Agonist.Org).
I’d always found Attackerman’s analysis a bit to “pragmatic” for my tastes. Probably a reflection on me.
Anyway, I didn’t know there was a “dust up,” if that’s what you’re intimating there…
Dish? Linky?
I am a regular follower of FDL, but I don’t know what happened w/ spencer. please enlighten me

The HBGary story is absolutely the most fascinating intrigue scoop on the net right now, bar none.
It just goes deeper and deeper implicating ever larger circles of players and spies and operative government entities trying to backpeddle and wheedle their asses out of a busted intelligence mire.
And then of course there is the adorable and irascible Anonymous who collapsed the whole house of cards. Awwww……
Ars Technica is hosting a series of stories on this unfolding drama not to be missed.
