…the radio announcer said, piercing my normal Friday rush hour traffic congested zombie crawl. I found it quite refreshing, as opposed to say road rage.
The announcer continued with his pitch for Old Navy, and suddenly, I lost interest because I like clothes with personality. Then I heard "I’ll ask ya one more time" which he came very close to sounding like "Alaska one more time", and then some gratuitous Russian vernacular thrown in along the way, and I thought to myself did I really hear that, or was it the exhaust getting to me from the traffic stopped for miles ahead.
I stopped at Trader Joe’s, picked up some things, and doncha’ know I heard it again on the way home. I was relieved to know that indeed it was a commercial, and not some auto exhaust induced hallucination from being so obsessed with the election.
I have to give props to Old Navy for threading the needle with current events, humor and pitching products. It was done very well, and made a nightmarish commute bearable. I still won’t buy their clothes however.

Great title! You tell a story well. I can picture the whole scene.
When even Old Navy ads are about politics, I’d say the whole country is obsessed.
